Or try unsweetened almond milk. It tastes really good and doesn't have the sugars that milk has.

I agree, don't eat them back and see what happens. Adding a bike ride a few times a week will help too, but keep in mind that exercising sometime makes you hungrier so if it does, try to stick to extra veggies and protein.

No way, don't wait! Just do it and you'll be fine. I understand your nervousness, because that was me in July before my first 5k. It was so great, and I only ran a 12 minute mile, but I felt like a pro! Walk if you need to, or not, but no matter what just do it and get it done. You will be great!

This^^ I live in Roseville CA, very close to Auburn and also in the Sacramento Area. There is so much to do here!!

If you've been on your current plan for a few months with no change, then what you are doing is good for maintenance and not weight loss. Maybe you need to figure out how to kick up your exercise a bit. Also, since you are so close to goal and it sounds like the changes you really want to make are more toning and shaping,…

Congratulations!! You should be proud that you did your best! I ran my first 5K on July 4th and had a great time. I was pretty nervous but overall did way better than I expected to. I do all my running outdoors so I was prepared for the reality of running on solid ground...it's a lot different than a treadmill and better…

^^This is excellent! ITA.

Thanks! I am afraid I'll get caught up in the excitement and overdo it too soon. I know the serious runners see the 5K as a sprint, lol, so I'll be carefull to stay clear of them!

Thanks for this~ it's what I need to hear! :flowerforyou:

Wow, that must have been tough. Lucky for me then that I live in Sacramento, and it's only supposed to be 91 or so that day. Also, the race is at 7:45am. Thanks!

First of all...Start Walking! Exercise, for me, is the one thing that helps keep my cravings for sweets in check. I cannot even think about modifying my food intake with out exercise. Second, make sure you start drinking your water every day and track it. Next, work on healthier eating. Set up your goals on MFP and just…

My heaviest was 244lbs last September 2011. Now I am 164 and my goal weight is 140. What a difference 80lbs makes!!

"Not sure I can help, because I'm sort of facing the same dilema myself. Weight loss seems to have stalled again. Part of me thinks I'm in a good place and shouldn't worry about it, but part of me feels like I should try to lose another five. My trainer says I should stop worrying about the scale and just focus on my…

*Fail* is a BAD word and not true! It's ok to take a break, especially if you are super sore and need a rest. I did that last night too, which is rare for me, but my body was screaming for a break (tired, sore, cranky) so I stayed inside and colored my hair instead! :) Made me feel a whole lot better today. Hope you are…

I signed up for a local 5k the morning of July 4th. I've never run that distance before so I'm just hoping to run most of it with some walking rest times in between. I just want to finish and not take TOO long, lol. I'm excited and nervous, but I think I'll do ok. I'm also thinking of doing a Merrel Down and Dirty Mudrun…

I joined a crossfit training class which is strength and cardio, and just finished week 3 of 2x a week. It's great and I can certainly feel a difference in my endurance and strength as well as my running since we do that in class too! It's pretty kick *kitten* but not too hard for most people to do if they know how to…

Hi I'm Leanne and I started my weight loss journey last September. Since then I've lost 80lbs! I started out walking 2-3 times a week for 30 mins and slowly reintroduced yoga, biking and jogging into my exercise routines. Now I regularly walk for 30 mins at lunchtime (workdays), do crossfit training for 1 hour twice a…
