  • I have days or meals where I eat something that is more unhealthy (like chick fil a or something) or maybe higher calorie but I don't really consider it a cheat. Maybe that's kind of a foo foo answer but it's the truth. I focus on living a healthy lifestyle with mostly balanced and nutrient rich foods, but I also enjoy…
  • Mostly I just eat fruit because it's low calorie. I keep a box of instant oatmeal packets at work if I want more than that. Sometimes cucumber with cottage cheese and everything bagel seasoning (more of a summer snack)

  • I try to just eat enough at dinner to keep me full. I am bad about snacking at night while watching TV so I'm trying to just.. not do that. Lately I've just been cutting myself off after dinner and dessert. If I'm actually hungry then yes I will eat something but usually I'm not. You could try having some tea or other no…
  • My coworker did a local one here that is more tailored to getting a lot of protein, and they also had a keto option. She would order a week's worth of meals at once and they were delivered in little plastic meal prep containers. A lot of small gyms have collaborations with these little meal prep companies. She liked it…
  • I'm glad you found a way of eating that works for you but I wish you wouldn't push vegan propaganda. There is nothing unhealthy about consuming red meat or dairy and they don't "clog you up." Your protein and fat are very low, I don't really know what the health consequences of that are, but I would much prefer to have a…
  • I think it sounds like a good way to lower your calories. I think the simple idea of replacing half of your meal with non-starchy veg is a good way to lower your calories while still eating the same volume of food
  • I believe vit D and magnesium go hand in hand so maybe you could try getting more magnesium as well. From a quick google search, foods that are rich in magnesium include dark chocolate, legumes, avocado, nuts and seeds, bananas, leafy greens. I am not a doctor obviously so you know. Maybe you could ask you dr for…
  • On weekends I like to make a breakfast burrito. I cook some frozen shredded potato in a pan, add some chopped bacon (I buy it already cooked from Sams club, in a bag. I'm lazy) spinach, 2 eggs, hot sauce, feta cheese, everything bagel seasoning. Put it in a tortilla. for the work week I do a grain bowl with quinoa, roasted…
  • Start small. I've heard of tacking a new habit onto an existing habit to help it stick. Maybe add in a walk into your morning routine, or after dinner.
  • I've had 15 lbs that I've wanted to lose for the last couple years lol. It gets really hard when you're already a healthy weight and just want to lose a little bit more. My problem is I keep trying to do it without counting calories because I just don't find it to be a sustainable way to live :( But I just can't seem to…

  • I wouldn't say one is more important than the other. I think having a nutrient dense diet and having an active lifestyle are both equally important to a person's overall health. For weight loss specifically, I would say diet. It's too easy to over eat.
  • Well I did not get my kids vaccinated. One is only 2, the others are 6 and 14. I don't really know why I'm commenting, I'm not interested in defending my decision, but I'm glad I have the freedom to make that choice. Where I live, everyone is getting covid, vaccinated or not.
  • I think food sources are always better than supplements but if the rest of your diet is overall healthy I'm sure you'll be fine...
  • Probably not. It takes a lot of work and effort to get "bulky" so I wouldn't worry about it. That woman you know probably wants to look like that.
  • Yea I don't think that's going to happen lol. MFP isn't the best when it comes to being user friendly. I would just figure up how many calories are in the amount of sauce you're using, and then find some other database entry and just plug it the number of servings to get you to the correct # of calories, if that makes…
  • I would just save 100 calories or so and have a sweet snack. I've been having a chocolate chip cookie for dessert lately. It's not low calorie or "healthy", just a regular ol' cookie. I just have to be good about only having one, and not three :D
  • I try to keep a list of the meals my family enjoys and each weekend I choose three meals to make throughout the week. I plan on each meal feeding us two nights to make it easier and reduce food waste. I also keep shelf stable and freezer stuff on hand so I can always throw a meal together without having something planned.…
  • I've been doing "grain bowls" pretty much every week for over a year now lol. It's just really easy to prep and it's healthy. All I do is cook up a batch of a grain (quinoa usually), and roast some type of vegetable and chick peas (or another protein). Throw all of that in a big container together. And then each day I dish…
  • Yes, I love going on walks but it's hard to fit them into my day with 3 kids. When they go with me I don't get to go as far as I would like lol. I think it's good to get out in the morning sunlight too
  • I want to start going for a walk every morning before work
  • I've been using MFP off and on since 2012 and I'm amazed they still haven't made it user friendly.... they must not make much money to put any work into that?? I like using MFP on my computer, and you're right it's completely irritating trying to find recipes on here.
  • I just got on the sourdough starter train not long ago, so I've been using that to make a small sourdough starter pancake sprinkled with garlic salt and chopped up bacon. And a fried egg to go with it.
  • Switch to something else would probably be your best bet. I drink those spindrift drinks now but they're kind of expensive. Or diet soda every now and then. Or I also like kombucha which I make myself so I don't go broke buying them.
  • Try starting to eat later in the day. I'm usually not hungry in the mornings so I can push eating off until lunchtime, or just eat breakfast a little later, and that helps free up more calories for dinner time when I really want to eat. Or maybe try drinking an herbal tea or some coffee instead of eating. That works for me…
  • This is not specific to fitness content. Scrolling through social media is *kitten* because most of the time you're sitting on your couch being lazy scrolling through a feed of other people's "highlights." People only post photos when they have their hair/makeup done and they're posing just right, they only post photos of…
  • a little apple cider vinegar supposedly helps get collagen and nutrients out of the bones or something. I'm not sure about that. But I do the typical broth veggies like carrot, celery, onion. I just keep scraps in a bag in the freezer. Some salt and whole peppercorns, bay leaf. I don't drink it though, I just use it for…
  • I think it's great in some ways, and slightly irritating in others. I love the idea that people shouldn't demonize certain foods, they should focus on adding healthy things into their life/diet instead of eliminating things, and create balanced meals etc. I like that they focus on becoming healthier no matter what size you…
  • I smash the avocado and spread it on. salt, sliced cucumber, spinach and balsamic vinegar.
  • I like yoga and walking/hiking
