  • LOL ^^^ THIS ^^^^ I did this first go-round with MFP. Now that I'm in phase 2 (got to first goal, then added another) I'm taking it easier on myself. It would completely ruin my day if I saw a change on the scale that I couldn't account for. Now, I'm checking my measurements every month or so and staying motivated by…
  • I'm the same size and I stopped looking after I found this one (under armour -women's endure high-impact): http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/womens-endure-d-cup/pcid1001175-100#bv-reviews I could only find it in the outlet section of the website...bonus, it's less than $50! I'm not sure what will be available for you…
  • Since I took antibiotics about a month ago I have had problems in that department. Along with what others have suggested, I also added accuflora (probiotic) supplement to my daily routine. I notice when I forget to take it I have more problems than when I take it twice daily. It seems to help!
  • FOR 9 MORE DAYS...... GET IT WHILE IT'S HOT. lol Course, I plan on continuing and getting HOTTER at 30 ;)
  • Thighs have always been my trouble area. It's strange that my stomach will be the first to go down with my weight but hips and thighs hold on to my fat for dear life! I've lost weight before but I swear my legs are much firmer now than they were a couple years ago at about the same weight. I've noticed a huge difference…
  • I started with lightly active because I'm a teacher...figured on my feet most of the day but not incredibly active. After reading about TDEE and activity levels, I realized that I was on my feet and moving more than I thought, so I changed it to active. My body is happier eating at that calorie level. I've been using a…
  • I've had my fitbit since Mother's Day... and I really like it! I had a polar HRM already but wanted to get a real look at how active/non active I was on a daily basis. It has helped me to eat what my body needs based on what I ACTUALLY burn in a day. It's fun to challenge myself to get more steps in at the end of the day.…
  • I'm glad I found your post. I have been taking cipro for a week now (just took last one this morning) and have gone up three pounds over the week despite drinking tons of water, exercising and eating pretty well. My stomach has felt really bloated this week, too. I think that it's just something that has to be waited out…
  • I got the Polar ft7 about 2 months ago and absolutely love it! I like the extra features over the ft4 but they aren't necessary if you're looking for something slightly more affordable. It's easy to use, the chest strap is comfortable to me and I like how it stores so many sessions. I can check my data and see how I am…
  • We have almost identical stats! I'm 5'6, 163 pounds, about a size 8 and want to lost 15 more while toning. You eat better than I do though ;) I'm considering upping my calories to 1900, which is about 20% lower than my TDEE of 2374. I am excited to fuel my body! Add me, if you like, and we can help each other out. ;)
  • YEP! Zumba and Dance Central! Fun and effective workout on your schedule.
  • I bought a couple of pairs of mid rise JLO jeans from Kohls back in Oct. before starting MFP. The fit was pretty slimming even 30 pounds heavier. The material is really super light and soft, which is great for Florida heat. I usually dont spend a bunch on jeans and was able to use my kohls cash I racked up from school…
  • I first taught Elementary where I would have a TA watch the students when I had to go to the bathroom to a middle school setting where it is difficult to find a TA! We only have 3 minutes between classes so I pride myself on being able to sprint to the nearest bathroom in that time (the exercise adds up throughout the…
  • I love chobani vanilla mixed with a pouch of emerald breakfast on the go... maple and brown sugar with oatmeal or chocolate cherry... YUMMY! It adds the perfect amount of crunch and sweetness, plus fruit! :)
  • I have a polar FT7 and the description said it will work in water... haven't tried it yet (pool water too cool still) but I look forward to it! Not sure what other options are out there but I love my polar! Hope this helps :)
  • Great job! I think I'll have to give that a try. Sour cream and shredded cheese are difficult to pass up with chili!!! Nice accomplishment. :)
  • I was going between the two also. I ended up getting the Polar FT7. From what I understood, the Fitbit only counted walking and stairs for exercise. I do zumba, weight ligfting, walking/hiking and whatever other activity I can fit into my busy life! :) Oh, and the FT7 can be used in the pool, which I will be using a lot…
  • I totally understand how you feel! Here in Florida we are already getting some warm weather... and it lasts FOREVER lol. I remember going to a water park one time and it really hit me. I was in line for a two-person slide but there was an odd number of ppl in my group. I laughed and said "guess I'm the odd ball out on this…
  • That is amazing! Congrats for all of your hard work, it is paying off! :)
  • Thanks so much for the support! It's funny that some people don't get it when something like wearing shorts is a big deal. So glad I have MFP peeps to relate. You all rock!!
  • combine ricotta, mozz and parm.... flatten chicken breasts, add scoop of cheese mixture - spinach is great, too, if you have it on hand... roll chicken back up and secure with toothpicks. You can dip in egg then breadcrumbs/crackers/cereal and bake for a crispy outside and gooey inside. The Italian in me says YUMMMMM!!! :)
  • I started at about 191... currently 170. My original goal is 160 but I think I'd like to go to 150 or even 140. Right now my 10s are loose on me so tried on some pants this weekend and fit into 8s -- for the first time ever! I'm trying to set my goal for size rather than weight bc I can get really obsessive. So, I'd like…
  • I do weights first because I can concentrate on form w/o being exhausted... plus, a nutritionist has told me something to the effect of strength training uses your immediate fuel source whereas going in for cardio afterwards can burn stored fat. I'm not sure how accurate that is but there ya go ;)
  • I'm really interested in what others say bout this... I have a digital scale but sometimes it can fluctuate five pounds in a matter of a couple of minutes! I don't know if it's the small tiles on the bathroom floor or what.
  • YES! I've played it 4 times since last Wednesday! It's almost as fun as going to class! :) Yeah, I think I'm actually going to just get an HRM instead of just saying I will... It's great that your HRM was pretty close to the website, that's comforting that I'm not over calculating too much.
  • Hey Katie, I just started using my gazelle again and was having a hard time with inputting calories. Check out this link: http://www.fatburn.com/free_tool_activity_burn.asp For me, it seems pretty accurate. I don't think that I work as hard on it as I do on an elliptical... so I think it works ok. Eventually I want to get…
  • I have been doing zumba for a little over a year now and still love it. One thing I noticed is that the same songs can have different moves, depending on the instructor. So, I'm not sure that practicing the DVD more will help in that area. For me, the first time I went to a class (actually the first couple of times) I…
  • (supposedly supportive) friend who is also somewhat trying to eat better and exercise: "Oh, we don't have enough cheese for all of the burgers, YOU could just go without, YOU don't need the calories..." or "LOOK! he made this fudge for me, it's so good, but you CAN'T have any" or... "have you seen how many calories are in…
  • My friend told me about www.skinnycrockpot.com - lots of good ideas there. It's amazing what you can make in a slow cooker!
