  • Me! I'm a week in and despite a harsh electrolyte crash today, I'm loving it!
  • I recently started C25K and I'm loving it. I also run really slow. My walk/run average is 15.5 - 16 min/mile which is only 3.75-4 mph. I'm focusing on distance before I worry about my speed so I'm not worried that I'm slow. It's the pace that works for me at this weight. I'm on week 3 which includes 3 minute running…
  • Clearly I don't know what a HRM is used for - I was thinking I needed to make sure my heart rate wasn't getting too high. ;-) I plan to move on with week 3 day 1 on Monday - we'll see if I can get through it or not. I think this will be the week I get hung up on.
  • I'm on Week 2 Day 2. This is my 3rd try with the program. The prior trys were on a treadmill and this time I'm doing it outside, which has helped tremendously. I literally came off the couch to do the program but I'm going REALLY slow - barely jogging. In fact, my walk/run interval pace is about a 16.3 minute mile. I think…
  • I just finished week one this morning and I'm starting Week 2 Day 1 on Monday. I'm using the app by Zen Labs and I also run MapMyRun concurrently to get my distance and pace. I'm very happy with both apps. This is my first time running and I started this pretty much from the couch, and about 90 pounds over weight. I'm not…
  • Kelly Ripa makes those types of comments all the time and it totally pisses me off because she is probably underweight with no body fat.
  • Me! I had a lot of luck with JC in 2000. Lost 40 pounds and kept it off. Then I had twins in 2010...lost my baby weight breastfeeding and then dropped 35 below that, but I gained some back when I quite BFing. I started JC last Thursday and so far I'm having a great week. I'm back at my pre-preggers weight and I'm excited…
  • I am a spoon by 8". Damn hips!

  • How are you all converting your points to calories? Are you just going by what MFP suggests? The "old school" rule was 50 calories = one point, but I'm not sure that is the case anymore. MFP put me at 1200 and I think that is too low for my current weight.
  • I will say that finding a meeting that is a good fit is key. I have been to plenty of meetings where I hated the people and I hated the leader...thus, I would quit. A bad leader can make or break it for sure. My leader gets everyone involved - makes a point to reach out to the quiet and shy so they are included. She is…
  • I am another one who is not a fan of the new Points Plus plan, but I love WW for the accountability. I am enjoying the ease of tracking my calories and activity here, but attending meetings for the support (I LOVE our meeting leader and that is a big plus) and the accountability. I just restarted on Tuesday and gave my…
  • Weight Watchers isn't "the exact same thing as myfitnesspal". With WW you get weekly support meetings and the accountability of weighing in. When I attend WW, I lose, when I don't attend, I gain my weight back. Some people can do MFP alone and do fine, but others need support. For me, I don't care for WW's new Points Plus…
  • I just restarted for the one billionth time. I hate the new Points Plus so I am tracking calories here, but attending meetings and weighing in there for accountability. Happy to have a WW buddy!
  • How about a whole grain pasta with some chic hen and veggies and tossed in OO and vinegar? The whole grain pasta will keep you full! I make a spinach salad daily with blue cheese and blueberries and it keeps me full for a while? Can you snack in the afternoon? Rice cakes with peanut butter or some nuts?
  • Another vote for hummus! I agree, Sabra is a great brand - very smooth and creamy. I like to dip red and/or orange bell peppers in it. Other things I frequent: n/f plain greek yogurt (I add honey) string cheese black beans, avocado, salsa over shredded lettuce tomatoes/cucumber/balsamic vinaigrette raw nuts whole wheat…
  • Just curious... I had no idea having a gall bladder removed was so common. What causes it and what are the symptoms?
  • I have two questions. First, why do you care? If you see a thread about a diet or weight goal that you disagree with, then move on. What one person does is not another person's business. Why put so much energy and negativity into something that really doesn't concern you? Second, if you're going to pick on one diet, then…
