  • It has been a rough few years since I have posted. I am sure that is true for many of us. Besides the worldwide pandemic, I retired in January 2020, then my husband died of a heart attack and stroke on March 2, 2020 followed by my son dying on September 15, 2021 from a gun accident. The day I retired I weighed 162 pounds.…
  • KJLamore- Wrap the watermelon’s in newspaper and put them on the windowsill. I am originally from New England and that is what we did with our tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables that didn’t ripen before the weather turned cold. Brown paper bags work as well. Good luck saving those two watermelon’s!
  • RvRita, Yes, I have been to Bottomless Lakes and Roswell many times. I will be heading to Alamogordo sometime this winter. Maybe we can meet up. Jeannie in Ed
  • Hello everyone! I used to post here years ago and just now finally found the thread again. Looking forward to getting to know everybody here and reconnecting with some old friends that still post here. Jeannie from Edgewood New Mexico

  • I make the stuffed spaghetti squash and zucchini boats as side dishes for my meat eating family and for my daughter and I they are the entire meal. Works out great if you are cooking for a mixed group. lol
  • Any soup recipe you have becomes healthier if you make it the day before you eat it. Leave it in the fridge overnight and skim off the fat. I make my stock first, leave it overnight, skim it the next day, then add in the veggies, etc. My grandmother taught me that trick.
  • I make chicken cacciatore in my crockpot. It means hunter chicken, so basically it is what ever you want to put in it as long as dark meat chicken, wine and tomato sauce are included. I make mine with white wine, mushrooms, bell peppers, chicken thighs, legs and sometimes zucchini or yellow squash, fesh green beans and…
  • I live in the country where there are not a lot of animal control laws. I walk my dogs on leash and we also have horses. I have found the best thing to do is to stop and tell them No and go home and point. After a while the dogs get to know you and you can just tell them without having to stop. Most owners leave me alone…
  • Happy Monday to everyone where it is still Monday! I went on a Mommy/ Daughter ski weekend with my lovely DD and another Mommy/Daughter group. For teenage girls they certainly do like hanging with us "old folk"! We had a great time and came back all in one piece. I was so tired when we got to the hotel on Saturday that I…
  • Hello everyone, Since I am having such a hard time getting back into the good habits I had before with both food and exercise, I am trying something different: I am starting a new face care routine. I figure if I can get that going it will make it easier to get other things going again. I have been doing very well with…
  • Happy Valentine's Day to all the ladies who post here, I am doing OK and yes, I did have a donut for breakfast. lol It was a heart shaped one from Dunkin Donuts. Have a great day everyone, Jeannie
  • Any cat lovers in our group? My husband and the cat are fighting (sounds funny, but it is not). I have cats because I can't put a stray out in the cold, not because I want them. Not sure how to get the cat to change his behavior. I know hubby won't change his! Please send me a PM (private message) if a cat lover or cat…

  • Part of my renewed commitment is to get back to posting here regularly, so I am getting February off to a good start! My weekly goal last week was to eat a piece of fruit for breakfast everyday and get back to doing a set of exercises I use to do all the time. I did both of those things. Life with my RAD (reactive…
  • Good Morning! Happy Birthday to all the January ladies! I hope 2013 will be a good year for you both in life in general and in your weight loss journey. While cleaning I found my old workout DVD. Lord knows how it got where it was, but I have it back now. It's a cold, rainy and foggy weekend. We need the moisture. I…
  • Happy Saturday! Page 8 of part 3 and still a few days left in the month. I started trying to catch up, but it is just too much for the time I have to post. My wining statements: -still having Internet issues and can't log at work like I use to. - the Wii is out of commission and I can't find my old exercise DVDs. -with…
  • It is bitter cold here also. I walked for 10 minutes in 25 degree weather. The wind picked when I was heading back and my teeth were clattering by the time I got back inside. I think I will focus n strength training for the rest of the day (inside my house) Happy Monday! Jeannie in NM
  • Amanda- Glad to hear it is not cancer. Housegirl2-I loved the pear picture thanks for sharing. Rebel- if it is not too late, I will jump in on the fruit and veggie challenge. I ignore them in the winter and live on them in the summer. Just cause of the cold weather I crave hot foods. Not good. I should be balanced all…
  • Happy Saturday! The Internet has stayed on all week. So I will be back in the "habits" of logging again. Work stinks and at 59 I may have to just deal with it. There were many comments about not being able to sleep. I have to take melantonin or I am up all night. It does interfere with some meds, so check before trying.…
  • Colleen – Oh, I hope you get the dog. Mwheatcraft54 – where is your ski picture from? I am still a skier too. We had an unexpected visitor around midnight last night: a wild animal in our yard! We could not get a good look at it, so we don't know if it was a big cat (mountain lion) or a coyote. The eyes were green and it…
  • After 6weeks without Internet or phones it appears Century link has fixed their problem. I am back logging and will be back posting. Hope to reconnect with the oldtimers here and connect with everyone. Jeannie
  • Happy New Year! 2012 was the worse year of my life, but I am here and looking forward to a new year and a new beginning. My goal to to get back to where I was this time last year and to get a computer! Jeannie

  • We had no internet over the weekend and seeing all the news and posts when I got back on last night just filled me with sadness and tears. I am from a neighboring town to Newtown. It is so sad. Jeannie
  • Hello everyone, My goals for December are to be back in the forum. I have missed all of you and hope I am finally at a point where I can post again. My other goal for December is to exercise 5 times a week for 30 minutes. Jeannie
  • Hello all, Still no computer at home. :( Prayers, warm thoughts and hugs to all on the east coast or anywhere the Frankenstorm goes. The police picked up my son and sent him home on 10/25, so we shall see what happens next. I just have to realize he is almost 18 and if he walks away from us on his 18th birthday, that is…
  • Hello everyone , Still no computer at home and still too busy to post from work. Son is still a runaway and still blaming us for his problems and not accepting responsibility for his actions. We sent my brother his part of mom and dad's stuff and re-arranged what was left with our stuff, so the house has a less empty feel…
  • Hello everyone, Hope you all are doing well. Still no computer at home and I am limited on what I can do with my Ipad. Posting from work will just have to be little updates as I do want to get back in the habit of posting again. I got my hair and nails done yesterday as final motivation to get back to where I use to weigh…
