  • I love the stairmaster...I can do it for quite a bit of time, but I am very cautious of the levels. Currently, I go at a regular pace for 2 minutes, then speed up the pace and skip a step for 1 minute. I do this for a total of 15-20 minutes on leg days. I hope to get fancy like the other folks on the stairmaster at my gym…
  • I guess I can say i do two a days. Since i have an office job, on my lunch break I walk 2 miles and after work, I do a hardcore exercise. I would recommend doing a light workout and a hard workout if you want to do two a days. I choose to do this because i sit at an desk all day and feel that the walk will prevent…

  • Since I am in the "strict" stage...I am not allowing sugar (unless dried fruit in a trail mix), dairy and processed carbs. I do allow a cheat meal once a week and drink wine on the weekend. I will allow the foods back in with moderation once I hit a certain goal.
  • Add me! Current: 240 Goal: 160 80 pounds to go :( Would like to lose majority in the summer (so easy to lose weight when the weather is nice).
  • The people on this site are ridiculous. Read the book, look at the webpage before saying that something is "bad" for you. geessh!
  • Yes, when you are hydrated your body digest food much better. It also helps get rid of water weight.
  • I started drinking a lot of water at an early age (11/12)..so now, I can't imagine NOT drinking water. I now don't crave for sweet drinks or soda. I may indulge once in awhile, but I can't drink a whole can of soda. I really think that you just have to get used to it. Get a big water bottle (mine can hold 55 ounces and I…

  • As a kid i was told to "make a happy plat" aka eat all of the food on your plate. We were also "praised" for eating a bigger portion (how odd is that). So I learned early to eat past the point of satisfaction.... Since i was overweight as a child, that led to insecurities and emotional eating. Although you can't blame…
  • I'm natural and wear my hair straightened (blown out) quite often. If my hair is fresh wrapping it and letting it dry afterwards help. If i have had it straightened for about a week, i put dax grease on my edges and put it in a high/tight ponytail with a scarf. my blow-outs still last for 2 weeks!
  • I burn 350-700 depending on how hard I work at the gym. I use myPolar FT7 to get my calorie count.
  • Two 45 minute sessions a day is good especially when you have an office job. I have one too, and I know how sitting allllll day is not healthy. I see that you said in another post you were interested in weightlifting. Resistence training/weight lifting is VERY beneficial when trying to lose weight and ensure you have less…
  • I do a total of 50-60 minutes of cardio 5-6 days a week. Right now I am doing a couch -10K trainer 3 days a week. I supplement the training with the cross trainer and/or stairmaster so that the workout is a full 50-60 minutes. I like to do one fun workout (zumba, kickboxing, etc.) once a week. Once I lose 30 more pounds, I…
  • I have seen some success stories from using it, but I don't think I personally would try it. I have used psyllium husk and other extra fiber powders in my smoothie and it usually makes me very bloated. If you try it drinks A LOT of water to ease the bloating
  • I don't agree with some of the posts. I think that a cleanse or detox can be very beneficial. You know your body best and if you feel like your body needs a good cleanse DO IT! You can just eat raw veggies and fruit (no processed foods or meats) drink yogi detox tea 3 times a day for a few days and you will feel back to…
  • Thanks everyone..looks like I probably just need a lower dose with no extra caffiene. I will talk to someone at the health food store and aim for a "lighter" vitamin.
  • Thanks! I will look into them at the vitamin shoppe
  • Thank you all for your replies!
  • I agree that it is much better to get my nutrients from fruits and veggies. I can get a bit paranoid that I'm not getting enough of something and feel the need to supplement.
  • When i wasn't monitoring my calories (and getting bigger lol) I took vitamins and had the same issue. I tried the regular women's multi, energy multi and now active...same issue.
  • Looks like ginseng and green tea extract in the "performance, energy, metabolism" blend. I drink a cup of coffee most days as well or green tea.
  • I only take the vitamins with food. I only feel dizzy after taking the multi-vitamins. Although, I definitely do need to eat more calories on the days I exercise, I don't think the calories are the issue. On days that I don't take the vitamins, I don't have the random dizzy spells. I want to keep taking them to make sure I…
  • I needed to see this post! Makes me re-think my whole love/hate relationship with food. You look great!
  • What is the cleanse?
  • It can help weightloss...if you drink it without cream or sugar. I prefer to drink green tea with a lemon (no sugar) over coffee right now, only because i love my cream and sugar in my coffee
  • I'm not crazy about the weight Watcher's program, but eating as many raw fruits and veggies a day is not bad. Eating a big apple that is 96 calories is sooo much more beneficial than eating a cookie that is 200 calories. I personally don't limit myself when it comes to raw fruits and veggies, seems like I am better at…
  • Do you exercise? Hat is the quality of foods you eat(clean or a lot of processed)? Do you weight train? I agree with the person who said eating clean works wonders. Getting most of your calories from whole food benefit you in the long run as wells as help speed up your metabolism. Eating 5-6 times a day also helps to speed…
