Wow..never thought this post would generate so many replies! For all the serious ones, thank you, for all the sarcastic ones, don't you have anything better to do with your time than post on a board which is meant for advice? I dread to think

I also think 'acne' and 'spots' are different. Specifically if you have persistant, low-grade acne around your chin and jawline, this is indicative of pcos (again, according to my dermatologist, I am not a doctor). Spots in other areas may be something different.

PLEASE get yourself checked for PCOS. I wasted many many years with antibiotics, creams, cutting out dairy, using different face washes, using different contraceptive pills, etc etc etc until I had a scan of my stomach and they noticed I had a few small cysts. it is extremely common. I eventually went on accutane which…

Thanks so much for your replies...even the one about cold turkey having sugar in it-which actually made me laugh, although i'm not sure if you were saying it to be sarcastic or not! There is no medical reason for my lack of weightloss. It is just lack of willpower and constant binging/dieting when I am not eating…

me too! although i'd be happy with less, i will take anything...haha

i live in india and i regularly see women wearing sarees (yup) and salwar kameez with sneakers in the gym, on treadmills, bikes etc.

any exercise which gets your heart rate up is good. but monitoring your food intake is 90% of the success as in reality, the amount of calories one can burn in 30minutes of exericse (around 300 if at a decent intensity), can easily get eaten in less than a minute.
-
yup, UK to india! restaurants are usually good about that kind of stuff, if you ask nicely.
-
there are so many-coming from the UK i was impressed by the cheap price and availability of vegetables, vegetables, vegetables! Eggs are also very cheap, high protein and filling. Personally, I love sprouted mung beans as a healthy low-gi source of carbs. mixed with diced tomato, onion, cucumber, chaat masala and lemon…

Hi everyone! i am from kolkata. This is a good idea-nice to see people from India. I have split my goals into three parts: WEIGHT GOAL: By the end of the month, i would like to lose 3-4lbs to hit 9stone, ie 126lbs. I currently weigh 130lbs. FOOD GOAL: Stick to the paleo way of eating, 90% of the time with occasional…

how about a satay sauce-1 tbsp of peanut butter mixed with greek yoghurt, plenty of salt lemon juice. I try to avoid dairy so i often just use a 1tbsp peanut butter which goes great with celery, carrot sticks and apple slices.

I'm from Kolkata...i am aiming for around 1200-1300 calories a day, with 30mins of aerobic exercise 5 x a week and lots of weights and yoga twice a week.

I recently prepared a 1 week meal plan mostly based on indian foods. I think if you cook any sabzi or curry in less oil then you can make it healthy and cut down on roti consumption! Here is my plan, do tell me what you think. Someone commented that it looks like too many carbs which i have to agree with, so some evenings…

Great idea, any idea for this week's challenge? My idea would be DRINK MORE WATER as in this cold weather we tend to forget to drink. When you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated (apparently!) and i certainly never drink enough.
-
thanks so much for all your replies, i could indeed incorporate more veggies into breakfast (it's just trying to get my fiance to eat them that is difficult!) and never thought it was too much carbs but now i look at it, it probably is...what i will do is on the nights where we eat curry, just have it with vegetables or 1…

thank you guys for the advice...:) much appreciated

i take iron supplements as i am slightly aneamic...always seem to go under on my iron on mfp. take a supplement-it will help!
-
i have recently bought PHD diet whey ...it is on amazon and in shops in the UK...it's low calorie, and high protein and specifically for those who want to lose weight and retain muscle :) comes in lots of different flavours-currently i am using belgian chocolate which is nice.
-
not low in fat, but it is good fat that will fill you up- 2 ryvita spread with 1 tbsp of peanut butter. around 160 calories :) OR 2 hard boiled eggs-140calories and great source of protein. i also like to eat 1 cup of berries with low fat natural yoghurt.
-
the scale was one where you place your hands on a hand rest and it measures your body fat that way. i don't understand how a machine can measure body fat by your hands...but anyway...yes my clothes are fitting a lot lot better. I wish i was not so swayed by numbers! Anyway you are right-it is physically impossible to do…

i am 22 and my height has not changed since i was 16. lol
-
gaaah just went out to buy all the ingredients and came home and realised i don't have a blender....do you think it would work if i used a potato-masher and mixed it really well? or am i kidding myself? (i bought chickpeas)
-
-that 1 binge=does not equal end of diet, as with MFP i can look back and see that even if i spread my binge calories over the week, i would still be in a really good deficit to lose weight.... -i don't eat enough iron and i eat too much sugar -definitely do not drink enough water!
-
failed first goal-did not get to library...lol. now can't go till 3pm as i have a lecture beforehand. Oh well, it's good motivation for me-the sooner i finish my essay the sooner i can go to the gym and the sooner i can come home and cook blondies!
-
has anyone tried it yet? i'm going to make it tomorrow...
