I use GNC Pro Performance Amp with milk as my protein for breakfast. I love it, it tastes just like chocolate milk. Since I am not wanting to bulk up they told me to have one scoop with milk instead of the 3 scoops listed. I scoop of the protein powder and 8 ounces of skim milk gets me: Calories 173 Carbs 13 Fat 0 Protein…

Thanks for the info. Dinner isn't quite done yet...definitely not planning on eating 8oz of a pork chop but I have no idea what I am going to replace 1/2 of that with yet...just wanted to make sure those calories are already designated to dinner in case I have a hunger pain in the afternoon. But again thanks for the info!!

I am in your boat. I have 15lbs to go and have been stuck for weeks at the same weight. People say you should be eating your excercise calories back when you have so little left to lose...that seems so wrong to me. I figured I would give it a try...at this point I will try almost anything!!

Thank you so much for this info. I have recently added weights into my routine (doing Ripped in 30 by Jillian Michaels), but now you have me thinking that I am doing too much cardio. Do you think just a 30 minute walk on my lunch break and then my Jillian Michaels DVD should be enough? I like to run as well so maybe work…

You want to stay away from processed foods if you can, but to be honest I eat these all the time at work for lunch. Just make sure to watch your daily sodium intake and to drink plenty of water.

Sorry, forgot my diary is only open to friends...it has now been changed.

I get at least 8-10 glasses a day and I watch my sodium intake. I typically don't eat back my exercise calories. Should I be...and if so how many of them?

I just finished week 3 and am loving it. I have never been able to stick with a DVD for more than a few days because I get bored, but this one I really really love!!! Once I am finished I am going to do 30 Day Shred and then after that I am going to alternate with the two for some variety.

I am not sure the answer to your questions but it is something I have been wondering as well. I am interested to see what ppl think.

This is definitely a step in the right direction. Good luck and remember to reach to us for support anytime you need it! Even if you don't you will get it anyway...that is one of the best things about this site, getting support when you didn't even realize you were in need of it!!

I have that same question. I typically don't eat my exercise calories back but then my "Net" at the end of the day is less than 1200. I wonder if that matters or if it is just necessary to consume at least 1200 calories a day without taking into account calories burned from working out.

I tried this out and it was pretty close to my HRM....good to know. Thanks.!

Sounds like my post may have been confusing. Here is the gist. Should my net calories at the end of the day be above 1200 (after all my food and workouts are figured in) or is it ok that if after my workout calories are subtracted from what I ate for the day that my net calories are under 1200? Also, do you typically eat…

When i quite smoking I gain weight but that is because I replace smoking with eating without even realizing it. I think if you replace the smoking with exercise and counting calories you will have something else to focus on and you will come out a winner in both areas!! Good luck!!!

Welcome to MFP. This is definitely a great tool for not only counting calories, but education and support. Good luck!!

I went through the same thing in January. I got sick and then decided I was going to take a hiatus from MFP. Unfortunately my hiatus lasted 2 months and I undid almost every pound I had lost. It took me another 1.5 to 2 months to get my motivation back and now I am back better than ever. Hang in there!!!

It is a Polar for my Nike+ and it does have a chest strap.

You should never eat less than 1200 calories per day. This can cause your body to go into starvation mode...not to mention really screw up your metabolism.

Rest at least once per week. Your muscles need time to recover to help ward of injury,
