  • Just be sure to weigh yourself once per week at a designated time [I do Monday mornings-- gives me some weekend accountability]. If you weight yourself more often, you'll drive yourself batty with how your weight fluxes. I was stuck at one weight for a long time, so that's when I started paying attention the the NSV by…
  • I recently made garlic parm quinoa with mushrooms. It was deeeelish. I cooked the quinoa & the mushrooms separately. I made mushrooms in foil on my George with olive oil and pepper. When the quinoa was done, I mixed in some garlic powder [fresh would be great, too] and grated some Parmigiano-Reggiano. Then I mixed in the…
  • After being wrong on my goal weight, I've decided the scale can't answer the goal anymore. I'm 5'9'', and based on internet searches, I think I am medium boned. I started paying attention to my weight when I was max 160, so I thought 140 was a reasonable goal. Now I'm almost to 140 and think, "Hey, I'm still incredibly…
  • Fun thread to find today. I'm tall, and by outward appearance, lean. I know better, and I'm trying to lose some of my squishy. [True story: a guy I dated once told me he liked that I wasn't rail thin, he liked that I am "soft." While I also agree that I like not being rail thin, I want to be more tone, less soft!]…
  • I started on 2/7 as well! :) My hamstrings and glutes are pretty sore, but I'm really happy I did X Stretch today! I'm looking forward to our first check-in tomorrow. I don't have much weight to lose, so I'm tracking my success one millimeter at a time! Best of luck to you.
  • A cup is 8oz, or about 250 ml. 8 cups is just shy of 2000 ml per day. I have a water bottle that marks 32oz & 1000ml on it, so I try to have AT LEAST two per day.
  • It depends on how strong you are. I did the 30DS with 3lb weights and would sub in my 5s or 8s for some exercises when I knew my body needed more weight. Then I moved to using 5lbs as the base.
  • How did you know those mini-Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercials were haunting me?! Making my own will be much more rewarding!
  • Love it. Thanks for sharing!
  • I know some Fitness 19 locations offer free child care.
  • If you like videos and want to try something new, Core Fusion is pretty great. There is an entire video dedicated to thighs and glutes http://www.amazon.com/Exhale-Core-Fusion-Thighs-Glutes/dp/B0021R52IA
  • I often make a chicken breast on my George and then steam a pepper wrapped in foil with a little no-cal olive oil next to it on the grill. Or I cook some broccoli or spinach. I like my chicken with just a little salt and pepper, but my biggest recommendation would be to get Cavenders All Purpose Greek Seasoning. You can…
  • When you ladies start the video, post a review with some comparisons! :) I hope she's not just re-branding something identical to 30DS.
  • Well, false alarm. My computer cannot play the p90x that I have borrowed, and I cannot afford to spend any money on it... so I guess my waiting, hoping and preparing was useless. URGH. Good luck to you all.
  • Ha, with our staggered three weeks I am sure we can share some notable advice. :)
  • Interesting! Sounds a lot more natural than my Jello fat-free, sugar-free option!
  • I wonder if underreporting is due to not knowing portion sizes. I don't use a food weight, perhaps that is the problem?
  • I flagged hundredpushups.com for myself eons ago because I read that the push-up is "the perfect exercise." Naturally, even though upper body strength is my weakness and my arms are my "trouble spot," I have yet to attempt the challenge. Now that I see people are interested, I'm going to try to keep up with all of you! :)…
  • In the last two weeks, I have made three of these flatout pizzas [though I bought the light original bread rather than the italian]. I add a little goat cheese for protein as well as my new favorite thing: turkey pepperoni. Coupled with the goat cheese, that brings me to nearly 20 on the protein scale not counting the…
  • Bump :) I'm baking a tweaked version of this right now: http://lowfatcooking.about.com/od/bakedgoods/r/Bananaoatmealbread.htm [Specifically, yogurt instead of buttermilk.... and regular flour]. Smells gooood... let's hope it tastes good too! I'm very interested to see how the bread is with oats. With my ingredients,…
  • Actually, the light beers like those mentioned above have a significantly lower alcohol content then regular beer. For example, MGD is 143 cals, 4.9 % alcohol. MGD light is 110/4.2, and finally, MGD 64 is, obviously, 64 cals, but has only 2.7 % alcohol. This is why the lowest-cal beers aren't good for people who intend to…
  • I found this online for a low-sodium chili powder recipe. http://www.lowsodiumcooking.com/free/ChiliPowder.htm Gotta love that google.
  • I am also a buffalo-flavor addict. I make a buffalo chicken soup that satiates the desire [for a few days!] and is only about 231 per serving if made with low-fat/no-fat ingredients. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Buffalo-Chicken-Soup/Detail.aspx I had no idea how much sodium Franks Buffalo sauce has in it until I logged the…
