Hi. Have a look here ...... http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10316598/40-with-40-to-lose/p1

Hi from New Zealand. I'm 44 with 2 kids (24 & 15 - only the youngest at home). 3 yrs ago I lost 50+lbs on here then life got in the way & I was a bit slack with tracking. I've kept most of it off but would like to lose more as I never quite got to goal last time, so here I am again

I've been on Doxy for more than 2yrs & haven't had any side-effects (that I know of) or noticed it causing weight gain. Would love to know if it does though.

4L of water literally weighs 4kgs  Keep drinking & try to stop worrying. Take things sloooooooowly. I've been on this 'journey' for 21mths now and i still haven't reached the end (I know I never will as it's a forever commitment) but I sure as hell feel a heck of a lot better than I did 2yrs ago. I've also been…

Often/usually none at all. It's something I've always struggled with.
-
Rubbish. Unless of course our TDEE's are under 1200 which would mean we're not only extremely unlucky but we're also incredibly rare!
-
Hi - just wondering how you went about finding a suitable company? Would you be happy to tell me their name? Thanks
-
Over 5 months since I've lost any weight so I'm hoping somebody gives you an answer that helps me out of this awful plateau as well!

I'm a tummy sleeper - I use a tri-pillow

Voila

Yep. I have finally come to believe that this ^ is absolutely true! Has taken 18 months to accept it though, lol.
-
Realised that when I can see my reflection in store windows I don't feel disgusted anymore.
-
By remembering how *kitten* I felt before

Log everything Weigh/measure everything No cheating (unless it fits within your cals) Don't over think things - I did it with no exercise, diet is 80% of the battle, worry about the rest later (unless you enjoy it) Don't tell yourself you can't have something, just have a teeny bit (& log it) Don't give up your favourite…

I think I need to test this theory but I just can't seem to 'let' myself do it. I've been stuck for 4 (yes, FOUR) months now & am almost at the point where I'll try ANYthing to get the scale moving again....... so long as it's downwards, lol!
-
Couldn't agree more.
-
Isn't that what we're all doing?
-
Yes, it really is as simple as that. Doesn't matter what anyone says or what 'magic' pills/potions etc suck you in - it all comes down to energy in vs energy out. Basic commonsense. No frills. Eat/consume less than you use/burn = weight loss.
-
I drink almost no water. I wish I could but I just can't seem to force myself to do it. I have approx 5 hot drinks (normally tea, occasionally a coffee) per day, and a can of coke zero about once a week. My skin etc is not dehydrated, and I rarely feel overly thirsty. I have plateaued (weight-loss) for 3mths without…

I'm 42 and yep, it's very very slow going. Have been stuck for the past 3mths - haven't lost (nor gained) a thing. Will keep on plodding
-
Time I got back on the low-carb train - will give these a go. Thanks!
-
I hear your frustration - I've been 'stuck' for 2.5mths at 176lbs. I log EVERYthing, I use digital scales/measuring tools etc - it is NOT due to 'lying' in my diary and my intake hasn't changed from what I was eating when I lost the first 56lbs, so none of those 'reasons' are feasible. I fully admit I do not drink enough…

You're definitely not alone. i find it very hard to take compliments too - when people say 'Wow, you're looking great' all I can think is 'Fark I must have looked seriously gross before'. The only good side of this mindset is that it makes me seriously determined not to ever go back to where I was.
-
Wish I knew - I've been 'stuck' for about 10 weeks now :grumble:
-
Me too. Turned 42 last week, stick around 1200cals (net) and haven't lost any weight for 2mths. Not discouraged but getting rather peeved, lol.

^ This is very similar to my 'story' :flowerforyou:

I track everything as completely accurately as possible. If I didn't I wouldn't have the same result(s) - of that I'm certain.

I'm a calorie hoarder for this very reason- I never ever want to be at 0 before the day is over. So far so good - 16mths and haven't run out yet - but if I did (& was still hungry) I'd probably have a big salad and allow myself to go over by a couple of hundred rather than starve
