  • It's not just the ladies who do this, I'm getting married in April, will have lost 60lb by then. Started last April. Take it steady, get into the habit of exercise, I've stopped eating sugar but only after 6 months of dieting and at that point it felt like a good thing to do.
  • I change mine every 6 months or so. But depends how often you go running. For me 6 months is about 4-500 miles. And I also buy good ones as cheap ones lead to injuries. Mandm have a good selection, I also go to the outlet stores. I'm on my third pair of a particular trainer which is £100+ full price but I've not paid more…
  • I try to have 1750 spare calories over at the end of a week. These equate to about 1/2 to 2/3 of my exercise calories.
  • Essex by way of London, now in Berkshire before I move to Kent.
  • Welcome. I have been at this for over half a year, it gets easier. Keep at it, don't beat your self up if you have a poor day. Its a long slow process but I have lost 3 inches off my waist line, 4 more to go, now wear large not stretching out an extra large. You can do this. I am aiming to lose a similar amount, I'm just a…

  • Congratulations on you run. I am just behind you, I@m up to 8K. I have a month to get to 10 and I am pretty confident that I will get than and so will you. I think, as someone has said, they have marathon mode. Don't use the quick start function as that is limited to 60 minutes. I select marathon using the up key and just…
  • I've been doing cardio for the last 6 month and it's helped me drop weight. I have now just started adding weights, albeit not heavy, a few times a week. I also do cardio on a weights day but far shorter session.
  • I usually feel it in my legs, they take longer to recover, it's around 300 miles. They normally still look in really good condition with some wear on the bottom, especially heels as I land badly.
  • I'd love some more friends on here, if you are motivated and really trying then help me and I'll help you. Looking to lose another 40 pounds before my wedding next year. It's not just the bride who wants to look great!
  • Keep on keeping on. I was going great guns last year. Took my foot off the peddle and now a few weeks in to getting myself back to speed. I guess it important to remember that just because you slip up doesn't mean you are off the wagon for good.
  • It's harder to do past 40 and its a good time to have a look at your self and think what you want to be going forward. I agree there is no quick fix really, you just have to change your life style, move more, eat less, make better food choices, not spend so much tome in the pub(well for me any way). I've lost over 20lb so…
  • Also in London and fighting the daily temptation of going for a pint. Not always winning the fight but I have a beer so I guess I've still won!
  • Endomondo. I've tried a few but keep coming back to this.
  • Just to clarify, it's a walking marathon not running. Same distance but a few hours slower, well lots of hours slower if you are fit but a few hours slower than if I ran it! Only up to 10k running and that's too slow. But I wonder how fast Mo Farah would be in a fat suit...
  • AVB was a poor manager at Chelsea. It wasn't just about egos, although the players were more experienced than the manager. His tactical knowledge was poor and his choice of substitutions lost crucial games. His win rate before Porto was 37%, at Chelsea 47%. He has experience in Europa league and that is suitable for the…
  • Its very tough, in the past few years I have gone through a lot with death of my father, relocating, serious illness of my partner and now the end of that relationship. And my weight has gone up and down over that time. Logging every day helps. Resetting your goals, for example if now is a tough time then is it the right…
  • 1. Where were you born? Chelmsford Essex 2. Where do you live at the moment? Euxton Lancashire 3. Where else have you lived? All over London 4. What is your current occupation? What is your dream occupation? Technology sales. Writing but creative juices are used for work at the moment. 5. Tell us any 5 things about…
  • Live in Chorley Lancashire, spend half a week in London and Chelmsford. Grew up in Chelmsford, spent twenty years or so in London, move up north a year and a half ago. Please add me as a friend.
  • Just bought myself a new (second hand) bass to get back playing. Not been in a band, except a couple of thrown together things for weddings and birthdays. Played rhythm guitar on those, just covers. Would love to get back playing in a band but time is precious.
  • He had a similar goal scored against him a few years back playing in the reserves so he didn't celebrate as he knew how the other keeper felt.
  • And I forgot to say please add me, I need to get some more friends on here for inspiration...and to moan about the wind.
  • Hi, just joined this group. I live in the North West, work in London, born in Essex. Last 2 stone last year. Stuck one back on but did end the year a suit size smaller than I started it. Looking to lose 4 1/2 stone.
  • Blue train - John Coltrane The cat - Jimmy Smith Ogdens nut gone flake - Small Faces Nuyorican Soul - Nuyorican Soul And currently - The Arch Android - Janelle Monae They may not be to everyone's liking but that's have the fun. But if I were to be on the desert island I think mostly it would be classical so I could spend…
  • Those 40 certainly made a difference to the quality of "bird" you are pulling. And before I get crucified for using sexist language that was a reference to late 60's early 70's British slang, which I know is totally unacceptable in 2012. Great work fella
  • I met my partner of 6 years through internet dating. I use the internet for business and pleasure and have met loads of people who have become good friends through some of the interest groups I belong to, real people who meet face to face and not freaks. (mainly middle aged soccer fans who want to meet up for a couple of…
