Thank you everyone for the wonderful advice! It's good to know that lots of people get this feeling and I'm not the only one!

I guess because it is something that I was never good at - even when I was in the best physical shape of my life, dancing and playing soccer several hours a week - I dreaded distance running during practices. I see it as a personal/mental challenge that I really want to overcome. I like the idea of overcoming my boundaries…

Haha okay, so first things first: My husband doesn't care if I go to a bar to watch the game. He does this all the time when I'm out of town for work. He can't really cook so he goes to eat out when I'm not home. My mom also asked me how he would feel about me going to a bar, so I guess I get where people are coming from,…

Oh...Geeze. I wasn't thinking about it like that (i.e. you need shin pads, shoulder pads, jersey, etc.). Remember when I said I lacked common sense?
-
Ha! I don't think there's anything wrong with a "celebrity" crush. Enjoy the game as well!
-
Hahaha um tempting, but I doubt they'll let you in the bar like that. Also, it seems like you are missing some equipment. Now imagining Crow in just goalie mask, skates, and a jock strap.

No no no...my husband is out of town, my friends who like hockey are busy. We live in the city, and my friends who care about hockey are in the suburbs. I have lots of other friends I suppose I could watch with but, tbh, it's hard to watch a game you're really in to with someone who really doesn't care.
-
I'm in Chicago and rooting for the Blackhawks. They probably won't play any other games. Also, I'm going to a bar that we frequent to watch hockey at/have dinner.
-
These responses are cracking me up. I am absolutely not Canadian.
-
Embarrassingly, I tend to fall short on the common sense scale in these situations.
-
Eh, I wouldn't really say I'm asking for permission. I know I can go - but it's valuable to know for example that some men think that a woman alone in a sports bar is an invitation to get hit on.
-
Not quite. I just want to go watch hockey! Is that so bad?

When someone calls you and you miss the call, you call them right back, and they don't answer...did you drop the phone and run away? This is my biggest pet peeve.

Whoo-hoo! Okay so I'm 24...wondering if there are any 20-somethings out there who are committed to this but also not giving up their weekend lifestyle? Realistically, I'm in my early 20s and I want to look my best for summer on the beach, but I'm probably not giving up the occasional wild weekend. Anyone else in the same…

NSV = Non-scale victory :) And I don't know about all that...y'all are hilarious though.
