Bump for later. What a great thread! Thanks, everyone!

Would you be able to politely turn down some food by saying you are on a strict diet or would that be considered rude in your social circumstance? For what it is worth, I feel your pain.

This is the answer.

I am an ovo lacto vegetarian. I am trying my best to have balanced nutrition and eat whole foods as much as possible (as much as convenient). Feel free to look through my diary and/or add me as a friend. By the way, I recently broke Snacks down into 2 categories so my dinners now are called a snack.

I don't know why, but I am always annoyed by that "if every day were like today" comment when I complete my logs. I suppose some people might gain inspiration from it (just not me).

You are ok. Everybody needs rest days and you are keeping busy on the weekends. Just keep doing your best!

Thanks for the tip, scottb81!

Thank you for posting this question--I will be interested in seeing what advice you get. My wife is doing the "proper" training for a half marathon in mid October. I have started to do my own walk/run program to build up miles and perhaps give the Half Marathon a go. Two weeks ago I alternated 0.5 miles of walking and 1.0…

Thanks for posting this. Looks like great advice. Based on your profile, we have a bit in common. Friend me if you like.

How about this: don't do or say anything that you wouldn't do or say if your spouse or significant other was right there in the room. Also, think about how it would make your spouse or significant other feel. Or think about how you would feel if the roles were reversed.

Awesome. I started making pizza with those tortillas too. I used a mix of mozzarella and Kraft Parmesan cheese, which is lower in calories. I dont mind pizzas like this (although my wife thinks they are gross). They are a nice weekend "splurge".

41 here, getting in shape, and like to laugh. New to the site and would like some friends in my age group too. 40-something's can add me too.

Keep eating those veggies and consider swapping out some of those grain type carbs like bagels with something lower carb and higher in protein. You are doing good. Keep it up.

In the morning after going to the bathroom and before eating or drinking. I also gain weight during the day after eating and drinking. Water weight can fluctuate especially from day to day. I have a Withings wifi scale that logs every measurement and from analyzing long-term trends, I would say any given weight reading can…

Genius!

Great idea. Way easier than making frittatas daily. Going to try this out.

Working out 4x a week is good--definitely keep that up. Like you said, you want to sustain the weight loss so eating only very few calories is not a good long-term goal. Maybe you are at a plateau and need to keep going? Your diet log looks good. What about trying to eat more vegetables? I wonder if that would help you…

He is my height and about the same weight. I will be happy to get down to 180-185 AND then maintain that weight consistently. In the past, I thought a weight of 175 would be ideal but I do not intend to try to go that low until I can consistently hold 185. I am 40 now. When I was 25 I briefly got down to 155 but that was…

I think you have the right idea: add 100-200 calories and see how that suits you. For what it is worth, the hardest thing for me is to maintain my weight. I seem to lose quickly when I get serious but when I switch to maintenance mode I slowly gain weight (about 1 pound per month consistently, which would average about 120…

Yes, it is worth it. Even short periods of exercise here and there will help your fitness. As far as losing weight goes, your calorie consumption will be the largest determinant of weight loss. But, every little bit of exercising is helpful. Just keep doing what you can :)

My go-to protein sources are MorningStar fake sausages, eggs, Boca meatless burgers, tofu, nonfat milk, sometimes protein powder, and (regrettably) cheese.

New here and a vegetarian. Anyone can add me.

I have been an ovo-lacto vegetarian for 20 years, would like to lose weight, and just started the myfitnesspal. Anyone can friend me.
