Thanks, everyone, for your thoughts. I've always heard you can't build much muscle while deficiting cals, but of course in order to lose weight and fat, you must deficit cals. Blech -- since I have 50 lbs. to go, I will continue deficiting cals ( not too extreme!) and do more body weight strength training with my cardio.…

When you say strength training, do you mean my cute little 10lb. handweights and a JM video will do? Or do you mean something a lot more serious...

Feel free to add me! I'm 34, sahm to 6 kids, and I exclusively BF our 6 month old. Right now, I just add 400 cals to the 1200 MFP gives me. I also eat back most of my excercise cals, and my supply seems ok. Cheers!

I am only nursing one 6 month old who eats nothing else. MFP gives me 1200 cals, and I added 400 cal for BFing. I also eat back almost all of my excercise calories. So I'm usually around 2000 for one baby, and I'm still losing. I think you should eat a tad more!

I live in WY, and it's ALWAYS snowing or icy this time of year. I went out for a (mostly) road run in 6 in. of snow on unplowed streets recently, wearing YakTraks. They cost maybe $35, and I never fell once! Not too annoying to run in, either. Maybe you could plan on wearing wool or synthetic socks and plan onbringing a…

Hey lisa, I added 400 cals for breastfeeding to my 1200 that MFP gave me. I also eat back most of my excercise cals, because I am otherwise ravenous and give up!

Hi! I'm 34, with 6 kiddos, and have about 55 left to lose. I have a hard time when I'm breastfeeding, but I've been breastfeeding a lot the last 10 years and can't use that as my excuse not to eat better/workout any more!

Help! I got an email saying that you invited me to the group, but I don't see a message or any way to accept the invitation? Thanks, Jackie

Me! Please put my goal down for 30 lbs. thanks for starting this!

Thanks everyone for the fantastic ideas! I can't wait to try them all out. I never knew I could freeze it already cooked! I ended up eating cold cooked quinoa with lemon juice, feta, tomatoes, cukes, red onions, and red peppers for lunch today, basically following skinnytaste's mediterranean quinoa salad. It was amazing!…

You look great! I'm doing ripped in 30 right now... Can I add you? Take care, Jackie

CW: 182.6 Woot! That's down 2.8 from last week. I had a rough weekend last weekend, and ended up more or less not logging 2 days. Bah. Hopefully this week will be better in that regard! I did manage to workout every.single.day, and that helped a lot. Jackie

me me me! I have 5 kids, my baby is 9 months old. I totally carry my weight in my stomach. Blech. I'm also breastfeeding, and my metabolism seems so.dang.slow. Good thing those babies are so cute! Jackie

Checking in at 185.4 Bah, that's a .4 lb gain. I didn't do great with the water, but did get some great workouts in this past week. Hopefully I'm just retaining water and will see a big loss next week! Jackie

Hi all, I'm interested about the SKIPS sets. Currently, I can swim a mile in about 45 mins. But, I don't really have a plan -- sometimes I'll do 3 sets of 500 swim (and add an extra 100 on the last set) and other times I'll just do something reasonable until I get to 64 laps, lol. The problem I have is that I don't see…

ha! Thanks. I typically get pregnant when the baby is ~14 months old, and then they normally wean themselves by the time I'm 4-5 months pregnant. I really am amazed when I think about the last 10 years of either being pregnant, or nursing, or both. Crazy! And now I sound old, lol. I'm sure when I eventually have my body…

I need to lose at least another 30 lbs. my baby is 9 months old, and I'm at my prepreg weight, but this is my 5th and I need to get BEYOND my prepregnancy weight. Gah. Preferably before getting pregnant again, lol. I have been pg or nursing for the last 9 years consecutively. Here's to slogging along! Jackie

Hi, I'm new to this group, but not to MFP or nursing. I have nursed 5 babies, and work very hard to lose weight after each birth. It seems to me that I get back to my prepregnancy weight when the baby is around 6 months old, but then my progress stalls out. I am totally frustrated since my prepreg weight is 185 and I'd…

I started at 207 after having my 5th child in 8 years. Now I'm down to around 190. I'm 5'5.5" (love counting that half inch!) My pre-pregnancy weight was around 185 and my baby is almost 3 months now. I would LOVE to get to 145 by her first birthday this time around. Previously, I've settled in around 180 and then given up…

I'm done too, woot! That is pretty much 20 mins of sheer torture. Jackie

Yay! I'm a newbie to mfp but have done 30 ds before (well, I actually never made it to level 3 but this time I will!) Can't wait to get started! Jackie
