I still don't get where people are talking about kids being called LOSERS.... AGAIN, and for the FINAL time, a child is not a loser if he loses. All I was saying is that kids need the chance to learn from when they do lose. Losing can provide powerful teaching moments if handled well by adults. IMO, Kids need this to learn…

Sorry.... wife had unexpected knee surgery.... I'll get on this as soon as I can.
-
Yeah. I plan on keeping it to a mile in the beginning. She should be able to handle it as I have watched her run like mad for an hour straight when playing with a dog in the neighborhood.... they just run, and run, and run...... without stopping. and the best part about my dog is how well she walks on leash...... I am…

I'll be back later today to see who the winner was, unless somebody else want to figure that out before I can get to it.... headed to the YMCA for a few hours.
-
Final day.... on Saturday... you can report on Sunday.
-
That's OK, because if it was facetious, I don't deserve one. If that was an attempt at humor, I have never seen drier. See? I learned by losing. Exactly the point of my post.

You know, I am the OP.... and I have a wee bit of liberalism in me too.... actually, I am a registered independent. This isn't about liberalism or conservatism from my point of view. It's as simple as a child being allowed to experience losing, and learning to grow from loss. I have absolutely no idea how some of these…

I absolutely agree... If a child has done their best, they have succeeded. That's all we can ask is that they do their best.
-
No, the takeaway is that you can learn to lose and learn from it. I swear, some of you can't comprehend anything. I am FOR kids learning how to lose and grow from it. I am AGAINST everybody getting told that they are awesomely wonderful winners, when, in fact, they did not win.

I chastised her? I surely did not. Learn to read. I SPECIFICALLY said I was very happy to have her finish third. Can you not read, or did you intentionally miss it, and my point?

LOL, and don't get me started on "Everyday Math"......... IMO, the biggest waste of time in school. Just teach math, not how to scout around the edges til you find an answer. Some nights my kids get credit for being close, even though the answer is wrong.
-
Well, as the OP, I NEVER said I pressure my kids to WIN WIN WIN.... I do encourage them to do their best, and learn from losing.
-
Right...I 'm not saying to tell kids they are a failure. I'm only saying that you need to learn to benefit from your losses.

Well, as a guy, if I turned down the women who asked to be friends, I would have like 12 friends vs. 60. My avatar shows me about 45 pounds ago. Just based on that, I am surprised by how many women have asked to be friends. Trying to look at it from a woman's side of not having men friends, I kind of get it. I am shocked -…

Actually, I don't really think of Belize as the Caribbean, but man, that place was FUN.
-
Oh, slightly incorrect... 7000 steps during the actual workout and then whatever else on top of that.

I don't have an exact recipe at alll.... Basically I make a regular red BBQ sauce and then add bluberries and chipotle.... Put it in my blender... process, then heat it up.... maybe process again.
-
Me too. I much prefer diet soda to regular.

Do you come from a bad area with lots of bad kids? I never, and I mean never hear of kids getting in fights at school, or after, where I live. And I do have kids in school, but they are only about 11.

As I said. look up Bozeman, Montana. This is NOT urban legend. And here is a news story: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46791850/ns/business-careers/#.T2n-ftUZzfk

NO, I'm from Philly.... but this story has been building for about a year now.
-
Yes, the story said it IS legal... FOR NOW. There may be upcoming legislation to make it illegal.
-
I don't think these folks give a damn about Facebook's rules.

Last year, to work for the city of Bozeman, Montana, you had to give them or you didn't get the job. They have since eased off some.
