  • Polenta with butter and parmesan. Lebanese rice pilaf Risotto Spaghetti Carbonara It's grain/pasta day in my class. So full of carbs it's ridiculous (not that I have anything against them... but a nice piece of steak would be fantastic about now.)
  • Blow them out of the water?? Lighter? Yes... because it's smaller... much smaller. Better screen? Nope, S3 has more pixels (slightly lower pixel density, because it's screen is much bigger) Bigger screen? Nope, S3 is much bigger, almost an inch bigger. Better battery? Nope, hard to compare, but most sites are claiming more…
  • Teach a man to fish... EDIT (for clarification reason): I don't think anyone begrudges those who actually need assistance (disabled, single mothers in school, et al.). It's those who abuse the system that are causing others to question its efficacy.
  • Sounds good... but you can cook it to 165*F and have a juicier, more tender chicken, and still be within sanitation guidelines for poultry. SOURCE: I teach ServSafe sanitation classes at a California Community College and have been ServSafe certified for over a decade.
  • Depends. I don't weigh my food raw, then log that using a cooked food entry, or vice versa. If you are going to eat a cooked burger patty say... then weigh the cooked patty, and log it as a cooked patty. Understand though that if the patty came with nutritional information it is likely for the raw patty, so it will be…
  • A lot of very ridiculous replies on this thread. Have you ever heard the phrase 'first world problems'? There are a lot of people in this world that would be overjoyed to have a shelf stable fully cooked protein available like this. It's chicken, cooked in a can. Not a lot different from chicken cooked in a pot. They put…
  • Represent! Wish they still made them for the very occasional dorito snacking that I do!
  • I don't think they make them anymore... but Black Pepper Jack were the best doritos ever! Black Pepper and Pepper Jack flavoring, om nom nom nom nom nom !!!!!!!!!!
  • Girards Lite Balsamic is a pretty decent lite dressing.
  • Yeah... that makes for great heartwarming TV... but in real life, no one is going to actually starve instead of eating an animal.
  • Hypothetical situation: There is a massive natural disaster. You and your beloved pet are trapped far away from everyone with no idea of when rescue might come. You are both starving as there is no food available. Do you eat your pet to survive, or sacrifice your life to feed the pet? Think about that long and hard. I…
  • I agree with this 100%.. which is why I have such a problem with people who condemn other cultures for eating horse, or dog, or cat. What right do we have to tell them that it is wrong to eat some animals and not others?! Of course humans are the dominant species on Earth, and as such, have the right to use the subservient…
  • Jealous... I want that fresh of meat. I am thinking I need to find a way to raise my own meat.
  • I am a REAL animal lover. I love most all of them right next to the mashed potatoes. Proud member of P.E.T.A. P.eople E.ating T.asty A.nimals

  • 1) melting the cheese 2) getting a nice buttery crispy surface to the bread I would grill the bacon, nutella, banana sammich for point number 2... and maybe I would dust the surface of the buttered bread with some ancho chili powder... and the bacon would be crack bacon (bacon baked coated with brown sugar and chili…
  • Looks pretty good, though I'm not a fan of the branch sticking up out of the middle of the plate... garnish should be appropriate to the food, and edible. Nice 60 degree grill marks, though they should let the meat rest a bit more before plating to avoid all the raw looking jus pooling around it. Erg.... been grading to…
  • Mixed grill is my favorite... very tasty, and pretty decent nutritionally. I don't sub lose the potatoes... too yummy. Get a to go box right when you get your food and put half in it. Then you only eat half (which should be plenty!) and have delish leftovers.
  • If you like Chipotle, and have a Qdoba in the area, give Qdoba a try. My experience is that is far more delicious. Don't mind Chipotle, but I drool over Qdoba (especially the Mexican Gumbo!)
  • "How do you like your oatmeal?" In cookies.
  • Fatty acids get cleaved off the glycerol all the time, it's called Hydrolytic Rancidity... and it does not result in 'plastic'. It does result in free fatty acids, which while they may taste or smell bad, are not plastic. It's true that fatty acids are hydrocarbon chains, and that Polyethylene is a hydrocarbon chain, but…

  • Can we get a 'like' button on MFP? The things people buy into when trying to lose weight amaze me. Eat less calories, burn more calories, lose weight. It really is as easy as that.
  • Lost 10# in my first week. I attribute it to a huge change in diet. As I was for the first time watching calories, I inadvertently starting eating low carb. With low carb diets comes a loss of glycogen stores in the muscle, which results in a huge amount of water weight loss. I'm not at about 25# in the first 8 weeks...…
  • Go to the store. Look at the vinegars. Find the one that says Apple Cider Vinegar. Not convinced it's anything more than snake oil, but there you have it.
