  • 3/31; 7.47/84km Little short of my daily goal today, but I was walking with my sister who uses 2 canes - and I am OK with that because I got her out walking. ☺
  • 2/31days; 5.34/84km Trails a little muddy today, but that comes with two days of rain. Thank you AnnofB for the warm welcome :)
  • New to group and new to walking daily ... October goal is to walk 2 marathons (84km) or 2.71km/day (1.7miles/day). October 1st - check ☺ So sorry for km posts but I am Canadian, eh!
  • I agree do what works best for you. For me I found breaking dinner in to 2 meals - one before workout and one after worked. My trainer also suggested splitting the protein between the 2 meals so you are getting protein push during your set and building protein after. Just a suggestion that worked for me. :flowerforyou:
  • I am back on MFP for the last time. It is a life change this time. QUESTION??? I am at the 1200 cal day do I eat 1200 then exercise or do I eat 1200 NET? The new screen has me a little confused.
  • Kashi - Go Lean, Honey Sunshine and Toasted Cinnamon all good with 1% milk (yes I said 1%). I drink my coffee black and watch fats in other things to allow myself this whole 1% treat  When Kashi isn't on the menu ... its eggs, eggs, eggs in all forms but fried
  • Today I just felt whipped and ask my husband if it would be so bad if I just skipped any kind of workout for one day. My positive is his reply ... "why not do just a little light something like Wii bowling" then he got up and powered up my Wii for me. I thought if he can do this for me then I could get up off my butt and…
  • Hi I'm 53 and 60over. You can do this, but support, food choices and a desire to change how you eat and live is a must. I will repeat that Breakfast is the most important to get your body working for you. Try a cereal with protien in it (Kashi toasted cinnamon or Go Lean Crunch) If there is no time in the morning even a…
  • No worries :) I just had a bowl of pasta with alfredo sauce and ground beef. Then about 2hours later I got off my butt and did 20 minutes of Zumba and burned 423 calories. We all have our food down days, but the real challenge is what we do about them. Tomorrow is always a new day.
  • Sweet Potatoes. I used to like them baked with butter and Brown sugar (the way my Mom always made them), but now I have discovered that they are excellent boiled, mashed with a little black pepper.
  • 3 kids then lost it all, office work gained it back, older kids encouraged me to lose most of it again - then the big D - Depression - put it all back on plus 35 more pounds. At 53 all the kids are grown and I am looking toward retirement so I decided (with encouragement from all the kids (by blood and by choice)) that i…
  • When I do my Zumba on the Wii it tells me how many calories I burned based on how I kept up with the routine. Although I am told that it varies depending on your weight. On average my twenty minute workout Zumba easy/beginner burns about 415-420 calories depending on the effort I put to it.

  • Having a love for going to Portugal, I find I love my wide angle zoom: Sigma 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 DC AF Wide Angle Zoom Lens
  • I post my weight every Sunday morning even though I weigh myself every morning. I also fluctuate during the week and also during the month, but if I stick with once a week to post I firgure I am getting an accurate read of where I am.
  • Less then 1200 calories puts your body into hibernation and it will fight against loosing weight. Stay between 1200-1220 and be sure to eat all of your excerise calories. The more you are active the more you can eat. If you find yourself at subway have a salad with meat instead of a sub. Drink lots of water 8 x 8oz a day…
  • I'm totally unyoung. And as my kids tell me ... I am 25 years old with 28 years experience :)
  • I understand the no health benefits part of your concerns as I am self employed and have no benefits. In Ontario we have Telenurse through the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Which provides Free Access to a Registered Nurse — 24 Hours a day, 7 days a Week. Now help is close at hand. You do not need to provide your…
  • I live in the country over an hour from the nearest gym (even if it was closer I wouldn't go - I have disliked gyms since I went when I was 20 something). I have a treadmill, Wii Fit, and just started today with Wii Zumba. I plan to alternate days/programs to keep it fresh.
