did you try google? sometimes you can find the nutritional information for your dish on a recipe website, then you can just quick add however many calories the site says. usually, i'll pick the same dish served at a different restaurant, but i make sure to pick the dish that uses the most calories - just to be safe.

40-60 minutes of strength training? how many sets and reps do you do? do you focus on arms one day, then core, and then legs? i can't fathom spending 40 minutes on strength training, and usually, i'm pretty tired after plugging away on the elliptical for an hour, so i spend 25 minutes doing the weight machines and leave.

this is exactly how i do it. i know when i'm going to eat something heavy, so i'll compensate by having a smaller breakfast, or going to the gym. that way, i earn more calories to enjoy the things i'm craving. also, going over my caloric goal just makes my deficit smaller, and i hate feeling like i've cut into my hard work…

Wait a second, does your MFP show your exercise calories from Bodymedia without you plugging in your armband? Bodymedia shows my calories consumed, but there has always been a 5-10 minute delay, so I don't know what's going on with your stuff. :/ sorry.

Why would I be unhealthy? I was using the weight machines 2-3x a week, but I kept reading that it's impossible to put on muscle at a calorie deficit, so I stopped because I thought it was pointless.

I have the same question. According to my armband, I burned 400 calories at the gym, but when I sync my armband to my computer, MFP will read that I earned an additional 900 calories from exercise. I've been pondering over this same question for days. Initially, I was strength training 2-3x a week, but I've stopped now since I won't see any progress while I'm eating at a calorie deficit. I'm still doing cardio 5-6 a week, though!
