Thank you everyone, it means so much. I couldn't have done this without MFP, I had no idea what a calorie was!

I love the ticker announcing my log in streak, no one else comments as I only had 2 friends, my other half and my sister! Congrats on your nearly 400 days

I was scared, so glad I did it now! You have all been so wonderful, and yes, people ARE kind. Thank you
-
Thank you, it's hard to stand up on a public forum and say "this is me".

Thanks, brave, yes, hot, no! What about the skin? I will answer as it is something I never thought about when I started to lose weight. I thought the number on the scale would be the definitive answer, the holy grail.... but no, it's not like that. Not when you have been overweight to such an extent I have been. I should…

I've got to admit, even the walking isn't/wasn't planned. It depends on how nice it is outside! Winter time, I tend to hibernate. I try to get my other half out to well flung parts of the midlands of a weekend and we can walk around for hours at a time (shops mainly!). This time last year I couldn't walk for more than 20…

Just MFP, I can't thank the site enough. First stop was the success board, wow, that was an eye opener. I wanted to be one of those guys, but didn't think I could do it. I log in every day, log my every bite, enjoy myself in moderation, and read read read! I work from home so I don't get out and about too often. I wish I…

I am absolutely overwhelmed by your responses, thank you guys! We are all at varying stages in our fitness goals, whether it be the first pound or the last few pounds. I've got to be honest, IT IS HARD, every pound, every ounce, we have to work for it. Your responses have made me want to get back on the wagon and get those…

Hi I was on 1200 calories a day during the majority of my weight loss. I went on to maintenance calories of 1650 for 3 months and didn't gain as I was so fed up of restricting. Like you, I am about 10lbs away from goal and so I decided I wasn't in a rush and have upped my calories to 1500 to lose approx 1lb per month.…

Wow girl, you look great, you really do! No low numbers for you to get down to!

How long till we get to know how close we are? You look really happy and healthy no matter what the number is..... I like this game lol

I am in the same camp as Cristina. I have always worked to a weekly total, some days under, some days over, which has allowed me to incorporate some high calorie meals when I've wanted to indulge. Have fun with your food!
-
Hi From Nottinghamshire here, feel free to add me  I will be going onto maintenance shortly but will be active everyday as I just cannot leave MFP alone!

Of course, all of us Mum's are different.......... but here are my stats: Age 23: 210lbs when I conceived, gained 60lbs and was 270lbs when I delivered. Lost 28lbs within 2 weeks of delivery. Age 23 -36 - Anything between 175lbs and 218lbs, Yup, I've only just got around to sorting myself out 13 years post partum …

I just wanted to pick up on what you said about stepping on the scale and seeing that your weight loss has disappeared...... I have weighed in every Thursday morning for the last year and a bit and I STILL get nervous from about Tuesday that suddenly the scale will show a massive gain. Even after all of this time, it's…

I am so jealous of you guys! I have lost just shy of 5 and a half stone (76lbs) and I started at a 42D now I am a 40C, why on earth have I only lost 2" off of my back.... it quite upsets me sometimes  But yes, you probably will lose some breast volume, lol, as it is made up of fatty tissue and as you lose weight, it…

Wow, total transformation, you are rocking it and look amazing!
-
I couldn't agree more! Take photo's guys - great job Dzenis.
-
Well done, you are doing brilliantly. The pictures show a massive difference and you ought to be one happy lady right now!
-
I wish I had done this but with pound coins, I could get some new clothes now!

I agree with Gaucho, I work to a weekly target rather than a daily one, some days considerably over, some under. It all evens out over the week and so as long as I stick to my target calories, my body will recognise a deficit over a period of time. Good luck!

I am exactly the same, my heart just isn't in it at the moment. I had a 3 month maintenance break and was determined to get back on track in the New Year but I am finding it so difficult. I am seriously wondering how on earth I managed to lose so much weight last year!
-
Good morning I found this out whilst looking at my other half's diary..... Under the relevant meal, breakfast, dinner etc in your wife's diary, click on quick tools and copy to today and then it will appear in your diary. Voila!

Hi I understand why you have asked this question. I too eat mainly low fat and have lost 72lbs but I still wonder if Alli would help, or XLS medical (fat binding pill), which seems to suggest for every 1lb I lose I could be losing 2 more! I once knew someone who tried Alli and basically the fear factor of having to be…

Hi It can be done and I wish you all the best! I started a year ago, am 5ft4" and weighed in at 218lbs and now weigh 146lbs.. I took a 3 month maintenance break from October to now and I am hoping to lose another 14lbs to get me to 133lbs. Well done everyone, you're all doing great!
-
You have done amazingly well and you should be extremely proud of yourself. 6.5 stones of hard work and dedication has sure paid off!

Hey Larry As I was getting closer to goal (not that I had decided what it was) maintenance was doing my head in. It was all I could think about. I had lost weight at 1200 cals per day, 1lb per week. I kept thinking that I would gain weight straight away. Should I up my cals by 50 per day? By 100 per week? I searched the…

I must be 15 years older than you but thank you! Best wishes ;)
