  • I made a way for wine to fit into my weekly calorie budget.....If I had a bottle I would cut back by 90 calories per day :) If I had more I would seriously have a hang over
  • I do this! I get to the last 2 days of the week (Usually Fri and Sat) and up my daily target - then eat like crazy for 2 days, to the last calorie :-( I did this also - I ate a sachet of Options hot chocolate - Fudge flavour - I don't think I will do it again lol. Just the thought makes me uggghhhh!
  • Hugs to you. Don't give up - It's so hard losing weight but you are making steps towards a healthier lifestyle - your son and husband love you so much, don't be so hard on yourself. It really doesn't come off overnight - you just have to take every day as one step closer to reaching the fitness goals you want to achieve. I…

  • Hi Zoe - to be fair, 3lbs in 3 weeks is good going. 8lbs in 7 months isn't fantastic though - but you're still half a stone lighter :) My tip is to make sure you weigh everything - you'd be surprised what a 'single serving' actually is when you weigh it out. Make sure you accurately log every morsel - I can't see any milk…
  • I can't tell you how much I admire you - I managed to lose 80lbs but keeping it off is a whole different ball game.It is a constant battle of up down/up down. I am not good at maintenance and I applaud you :-) Well done, you're an inspiration and a well versed lady! I can't wait to read your links in the morning so I can…
  • It's just dawned on me - after nearly 4 weeks of separation - I am NOW single - wtf happened!!!!
  • Yes as a programme, it definitely works! At 37 and sedentary, I completed a few 5ks. However, I am a lazy girl at heart and didn't enjoy it very much and stopped running :-( As for results, not sure if you mean inches or weight loss? I lost inches (2 at the most around my waist) but no weight. I was more successful cutting…
  • Hi Wow, you sound just like me, or the 'me' I was. I was 35 when I decided enough was enough at 15st 8 and 5ft 4. January 2012 - That's when I took the bull by horns! January 2014 could be YOUR year. I too, was brought up to clear my plate and was a size 16 and 12 stone at age 12. I didn't exercise at all. I didn't…
  • What a great quote 'maintaining 40 pounds more than I want to' - two peas in a pod gal - I went to maintenance far too early. It makes it easier, right? :flowerforyou:
  • Thanks ladies, very supportive - really needed this boost as I don't reach out very often. Those that have wanted to add or be added - thanks - hope we can help each other achiever our goals xox
  • Thanks qt! You've boosted me already - glad to have you as a friend!
  • I don't know you from adam, but I again, agree with you. I love Weatherspoons, once a week, every Sunday, I am there, for social and family reasons. With the best will in the world, I would order the healthy option, which is the superfood pasta! Hell no, what do I order, the burger and chips, with the extra burger with bbq…
  • Basically you are both saying the same thing, and I agree with you! I watched this programme alone and was talking to the TV when the interviewer was rubbishing all of these companies as selling false hope as only a very small percentage of people seemed to be able to maintain any weight loss over the subsequent coming…
  • I lost weight after plugging my numbers in to MFP and it gave me 1200 cals a day. However, I quickly learned that if I ate low calories on a couple of days a week, I could then 'bank' calories to use for 'family' nights, ie, a takwaway and some wine! I had no idea I was unintentionally following the 5:2 diet. I used my…
  • Hard work and dedication pays off, well done, you look fab
  • I know the feeling when looking up entries for chip shop items! I generally log a bag of chips at around 600 calories but I remember years ago being in a chippy and they had a poster advertising fish and chips at being around 950 calories per portion. I personally think it MUST be higher than that and would probably log…
  • Hi My partner was struggling with a new purchase of running shoes, after 4 miles he was getting pains and didn't have this problems with his old running shoes. Sports Direct actually advised him that these new trainers were suitable for his feet. Anyhow, we were in Meadowhall last weekend and came across a shop called…
  • Oh and btw, I keep pushing my maintenance calories up and up, testing the water so to speak!! I find I am maintaining on 1915 cals per day @ 137lbs and 5ft 4!! I am a bit scared to push it much more :blushing: This means generally, 5 days a week, I am eating around 2500 cals (due to 2 500 cal days which I have grown to…
  • Hey Congratulations on your weight loss, such a great achievement! At the beginning of my weight loss journey, I worked, like you do now, to a weekly total of 8400 calories (1200 per day), I 'saved' calories for weekly treat meals that I knew I would have, for example, every Thursday evening I would have a chinese meal…
  • Hi I ALWAYS worked to a weekly average whilst losing weight and I still do now I am on maintenance. So yes, it works (for me). However, I used to save calories for special meals out and takeaways, not the healthiest of reasons to work to a weekly average! Weight loss is a slow process, your body does not just recognize…
  • You have done brilliantly, well done. Day by day I wanted to give up and return to old eating habits, but I told myself if I just get through today, I could have that treat tomorrow. Tomorrow never came! (Well it did but I just got back on track! I am only human!)
  • OMG you look amazing, I can't believe the difference in your tummy area, it's very impressive! I am of similar stats to you (starting weight, height) though I weigh less at the moment. BUT your tummy looks 10 times better than mine. You have made me seriously think about starting lifting on Monday! Great job, well done!
  • I did 1200 cals from Jan until end of Sept, then I felt my body needed more. I upped to maintenance from Oct through to Jan (guided my MFP) and I didn't gain, I actually lost 4 lbs! Initially, the first few weeks were great in terms of weight loss, but after about 12 weeks it settled down to 1 lb per week. I stuck at it…
  • Oh wow, you guys have all been so positive and supportive, thank you. To those who have suggested more exercise and possibly lifting, I am going to look into this. I have been on maintenance this last week and have not gained (wahoo) and feel ready to start again. I really DO need to find some form of exercise that I…
  • Hey Congrats on the 65 days and the 22lbs, what a great achievement. Don't give up! Just think, if you stopped now, you will be the same weight come the summer or you may have even gained! If you carry on, you could well be 32lbs lighter by July and basically at goal. It is hard, I know it is. Maybe allow room for some…
  • I just wanted to say that I have had a first class response from Dan. I am going to follow his suggested calorie intake for at least 4 weeks without weighing myself :blushing: as I know the scales will initially go up. Thank you Dan, your help is much appreciated.
  • You can definitely see a difference, well done!
  • I am overwhelmed at the sheer amount of comments I have received, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all :flowerforyou: I just wanted to say, weight loss is a slow process. After the first 8 weeks I lost 1lb per week, every week! Initially, weight loss can be quite rapid and it can be frustrating to go down to losing…
  • Thanks to EVERYONE for all of their kind words and quite often I've literally had tears in my eyes reading your comments. I took progress photo's every 5 pounds or so right from the start, I would encourage everyone to do so. I started noticing from the photo's at around 20 lbs down, but I still struggle to see much of a…
  • Thank you everyone, it means so much. I couldn't have done this without MFP, I had no idea what a calorie was!
