  • I see someone else mentioned putting on weight after a run... just FYI after I ran a marathon last year, I 'gained' nearly 7lbs the following week. It all came off the week after. Don't sweat it.
  • Er... I don't blame you for being offended. Your sister was being offensive. At 5'0" and 100lbs, you're a perfectly normal weight. In fact, your BMI is 19.5 which is on the lower end of normal. Not fat. Not by any stretch of the imagination.
  • And don't forget, it only works if you *sprinkle* it on. It won't work if you mix it into your food.
  • Even if the measurements are teaspoons, the veg. oil and sugar alone are around 100 calories. Shame -- I love mug cake but sadly, it seems it can either be yummy or low calorie but not both!
  • @dance_fit - I was wondering that myself. Sounds delicious, but if those measurements are TBSP and not tsp, there's no way that's 101 calories.
  • I'm running my very first marathon in two weeks time. I only started running seriously in April and the furthest I've ever raced is 10K! Get a good training plan, eat well (make sure you're not eating too little!) trust in your training and you'll get there. I did my last super-long run of 20 miles last week. Six months…
  • I'm a UK 12 (US 8?) 153lbs and 5'7"
  • I haven't lost all that much weight (about 10lbs in the last 3 months) but my body has changed shape and got a LOT smaller, and so have my boobs! I was a 32GG to start with and am now about a 30G (I need to get fitted again). I thought I'd be really disappointed but to be honest, I'm not. Proportionally, I look fine.
  • Please don't think there's anything wrong with you! I'm sure some people lose weight fairly quickly and healthily and that's all well and good. I'm not one of them. I've lost about 11lbs in the last 3.5 months and that's with training for a 10K and now a marathon, good food choices AND strength training. The number isn't…

  • Yup, MFP is right! For the record, your BMI is your weight in kgs (sorry, I only know the metric calculation!) divided by your height in metres, squared. So for you: 5'6 = 66in = 1.67m 227lbs = 103kg 103 divided by (1.67 x 1.67) = 36.8. Hope that helps!
  • OUCH! Lego hurts a whole lot! But be thankful you don't have these plugs in the US. Stepping on an upturned one hurts like you would not believe!
  • Hi! I posted in another thread but will post here too! Did the 30DS, 10 days at each level with one day off every week as well as running 4 times a week. Over all I lost 2kgs/4.4lbs and 7.5" off my arms, bust, waist, hips and thighs. I think you can tell  Before After Before After Before After
  • bump cos I've got the pictures to work now
  • Thank you, Fran! I've worked hard but it's been good fun too. Here's to more! :drinker:
  • Hmmm... that didn't seem to work :embarassed: Anyone know if it's possible to post pics from flickr?
  • If you find the answer, let me know! I've been using MFP for nearly 3 months, running 3/4 times a week for 8 weeks and doing the 30 Day Shred 6 days a week for 3 weeks. I've lost all of 2kgs! However, I do seem to have dropped an entire dress size so something good is happening! Just keep at it. You seem to be…

  • 800 calories a day sounds far too low. You won't be able to sustain that in the long term. Also, try not to worry TOO much about the numbers on the scale. I know that's easier said than done, but try to find another way to measure your progress. I've been using MFP for over two months now. I've been doing a 5k training…
  • I find the recommended numbers for sugar are pretty unrealistic. Mine is 27g. If I have milk with my cereal and an apple, that's all my sugar used up for the day. It also doesn't differentiate between "good" and "bad" sugars. If I eat no fruit and a bar of chocolate, I may well be under. Yet, if I have an orange, an apple…
  • I could be totally wrong, but could you be lactose intolerant? I am, and as well as the usual suspects (milk, cream, cheese etc) whey gives me all the same symptoms. So for me, whey protein and anything with whey powder (like some cereals) is out. Hope that helps!
