  • I'm actually not even walking the dog. haha! I'm out walking at lunch at work. But I had no clue what the MPH equated to in real life walking speeds so I just used the dog as an example (since that's what they have listed next to the 3mph speed.)
  • Ok thanks for the clarification!! :) I didn't want to be robbing myself of exercise points by picking the slower speed if that wasn't the right one. Sounds like 3.0 is about right for what I'm doing though. Thanks!
  • Boston Terrier fan here too! I spend a lot of time volunteering with the Boston Terrier Rescue of NC and my family has two Bostons. Hubs and I would love to adopt a Frenchie but they're hard to come by here unless I go through a breeder. No offense, but after seeing all we go through in rescue dealing with the excess of…
  • I second Fleet Feet! They're great! Ditto what everyone else has said. Take your time and don't try to run to hard or too fast. If you need to repeat a day here or there, it's ok. If your body isn't ready to move up, then you might end up setting yourself back later because of injury. The C25K apps for the smart phones are…

  • I'm on a low carb diet of sorts and trying to avoid processed/sugary foods. Mostly I'm working on portion control and eating only when I'm hungry. I tend to eat way more than I should or eat just because it's "time" for a meal. I found that a lot of times I was eating out of habit and not because I was actually hungry!…
  • I can't take the big ones either - they always give me a stomach ache. I take one of the Flintstones Chewables with dinner and they don't bother me. I think it really helps to eat a meal when you take the vitamin so that it digests easier.
  • I have a couple of gyms close by but I hate going to the gym!! I have several different DVDs that I switch between.... Hit the Spot Pilates with Denise Austin, Billy Blanks Bootcamp, Drop it in 30 by Prevention Magazine, and a Cardio Burn Yoga. I also have a Jillian Michaels workout game on my Wii which will make you work!…
  • Wow what a surprise to see so many people with the same condition! And also a relief to know that I'm not alone :) I went to the doctor this past summer because I started having a rapid heartrate and palpitations. She gave me an EKG and ran blood tests and found everything to be normal. She diagnosed it as tacycardia also.…
  • I love string cheese! Or I'll eat a yogurt. Peanut butter would be good too. I'm not a big fan of nuts but supposedly almonds are great snacks. My husband eats those or peanuts when he gets the urge to snack.
  • January 20, 2012 Starting weight was 134.5 Current weight is 128.7 Total weight lost so far: 5.8lbs! I'd like to lose another 2 lbs or so and then concentrate on building muscle (which may actually make me gain some weight back!).
  • Hi all - I'm Emily aka SkipHiLad4me on COTH. I have been using the MFP app on my phone for the last week or two but just realized where the COTH group was on here! haha! I turned 30 this year (groan!) and I work at a desk job. I had always been super active growing up and weight was never an issue. I ate whatever I wanted.…
