Several other people have recently mentioned this. It appears to be a technical problem on the Fitbit side and they are apparently trying to resolve it. If you've been consistently logging for a while, you will likely be able to deduce a count that's close enough until the glitch is fixed. Good luck

Wise words from Ann, as always 🙂 And if you're not already doing so, maybe consider using a weight trending app (Libra for Android or Happy Scale for iOS) because body weight changes can be very subtle. Best of luck!

Hi Tom! Glad you're here and wish you the best of luck in meeting your goals. Stay strong and enjoy the ride!

I love coffee, too and have always felt that my adoration of it was quite advanced compared to other folks. BUT...After reading the posts above, I now feel like a rank amateur. Maybe a good cup of shade-grown will lift my spirits.😆

For 120 pounds, I would consider both 118 and 122 to be "at goal". I weigh a bit more than you and give myself a window: If I am somewhere between 124-129, I'm content. I've weighed myself every day and log for averages in Libra, so I don't sweat *exact* numbers. Have maintained this way for many years. Hope that helps!

I like Vega and have used it for many years. Vega is a Canadian company, but readily available in the U.S. I like their Protein & Greens variety, in particular.

Yes, always. By about 40 calories or so (Garmin Vivosmart3). No idea why. Doesn't bug me too much.

Thank you for your openess and honesty. This is one of the best things I've ever read on MFP and I'm glad that you chose to share it. I wish you much continued success and happiness in your future.

Oh, and of course, "Stand Back" by Stevie Nicks. Works in line at the grocery store or just practicing social distancing in some other way.

Hi Ross, Tempeh, tofu (don't be afraid to use caloric sauce sine you want to gain weight), nuts and nut butters, protein shakes, beans and rice. There are a lot of great high protein, vegetarian and vegan options listed on this board. Do a search and best of luck to you!

Hello sgreer 29! Go to Most helpful links at top of page, then go to "which lifting program is right for you?" Quite a few dumbbell programs listed there. Good luck and enjoy!
-
You're very welcome! I'm a (very) long time vegetarian, mostly vegan and I find it quite easy to gain, to lose, and for the past couple of years, to maintain :)

Nut butters, protein (I like Vega), tempeh, huge veggie stir fries, cashew yogurt, sweet potatoes. There are so many great vegan options out there now. Best of luck to you!

Thank you all very much for your helpful responses. This may be the one time in my life when a machine was possibly at fault and not me. Sijomial, you bring up a very good point about stress. Thanks also for telling me about your own experience. Much appreciated! Enjoy the weekend folks

Another vote for Concept 2. Bought mine two years ago...zero buyer's remorse. High quality rower.

Sounds great. I haven't been to aqua spin, but would if I could. Give it a try and see if you like it. I suspect that you will!

Switch to whole grains instead of white flour, perhaps?

Um, I meant Gary Numan, not human...

Burn depends upon how much effort you put into it and your personal stats of course, but you'll find "water aerobics, water callisthenics" in the Cardio exercise list. Enjoy :)

Agreed. There are people of all sizes, shapes, and experience in any class I've taken in any gym. It's fun! No judgements except, perhaps, respect. Go in, give it your best shot (with your individual pacing in mind--also encouraged and accepted wherever I've gone) and ENJOY. Good luck to you.

Concept 2 has workouts of the day (durations vary: short, medium, long) that are sent daily via e-mail. The medium and long workouts often switch in intensity. Hope this helps.

This looks like a pretty intense program to me and seems geared for someone who is really, really competing to WIN. The exercises are great in that they do focus on back, shoulder, core strength, but, yeah, I think some serious modifications would be in order. Especially since you haven't kayaked for a while. Have fun with…

Hi Shannon, Congratulations for "taking the plunge" and signing up for a kayak 5K! I find that focusing on using my back muscles (lats) and core—not my arms—is the key to paddling easily. Do you have access to an UPSTREAM body of water on which to practice? Other than getting out on the water and getting comfortable…

Not sure how detailed you want to get with tracking specific workouts, but you can log your strength training as a Cardiovascular exercise where it's listed as "Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)" in that category. Hope this helps.

Hey Yadda, I had a hysterectomy (laparoscopically) a few years ago and was also worried about the recovery time. I've always been an avid hiker and I began taking progressively longer walks about two weeks after the procedure. Not sure what method they'll be using for your surgery, but listen to your doctor's advice. If he…
