It's really good that you are listening to your mother Katie and taking steps to correct risky eating. She is the one to give you the correct advice as she knows you best. You do not have an overweight issue so my advice is lighten up and have fun.

I am 60 and have lost 60 pounds since January 2012. Age is no barrier and only used as an excuse not to do anything about the weight

That was me earlier in the year - we had a mixture of take outs, restaurant meals, BBQ & salads. Good luck andf hope your new kitchen is everything you want it to be :D

I'm from the UK but I live in Ireland and I love my Fitbit - it sync's nicely with MFP and I would be totally lost now without it. It logs activity like the Wii but no good for yoga or swimming type activity so I log these manually.

I joined MFP 6 months ago. Then I had achillies tendon problems in both legs and could not walk 50 yards - I now walk about 5 miles a day without problems.
