Awesome Job! (and I was pretty confused/worried with the 10 weeks comment :))

Oooh me me!!!

I've noticed a couple of "pro ana" posts on the boards (but not my friends of course. It is really really sad...

I did POF for a while, and I have to concur with the crazy bit. I did, however, have fabulous sucess on Match.com. I went on plenty of dates with nice guys (not good for watching your waistline with all the food and drinks though!) and ended up meeting my fiancee as well! We probably would have never met organically,…

Start with the small changes, don't go gung-ho or it won't stick. I agree with above to just start logging your food and watching your calories. Sooner or later you'll get the exercise bug... but you don't need it to start losing weight. Good luck!

I love mine. I use it just for the calorie expenditure, and track my calories eaten here. First week using the bug, I lost 3.2 lbs!!!

I've had the Bodybugg for about a month. I've found it comfortable and acurate... and I wear it all the time! To bed, to work, and only take it off when I'm in the water, to download, and to charge. HRM such as polar are only to be used when you're working out, so you won't get a calorie burn all day. The disadvantage to…

Nutrisystem: the food is gross! It is filled with sodium as well, I did not like it. I have no experience with Jenny Craig.

Appleton here! I'm adoring this weather! Running a 5k tomorrow morning, and I couln't have asked for a better day!!!
-
I agree! I'm a 38DD and I love the Fiona! they most definitely keep the ladies in place for running, jumping jacks, whatever and the are super comfy too!

Sounds like your mom has some serious food issues herself. She doesn't want you to get healthy? That is so odd. You are right, you don't have to give up everything you love. Just pick and chose what is important and moderation!

^^ I think that would actually be the definition of anorexia.

I want to thank everyone for the amazing response. To say that I'm inspired is an understatement. I am so ready for this and I look forward to getting and giving support!

Ha!!! Thanks for all the feedback guys. I know this isn't facey-space, but part of me feels like I'm letting someone down that is really in a bad place. However, this person is essentially a stranger, and I'm number one! They have been unfriended! Now... who needs another friend??? lol

I'd be good at 150... haven't been that weight... well.... ever! I was about 170 in college, and I felt great at that weight.
-
I plan on doing more than 10 min a day... but those days that you just don't feel like doing nothing... or you need a rest... just doing 10 minutes of activity is an option to keep you going. Can't wait to see what happens by Easter!!!!

A bunch of my friends are taking part in a 47 day running streak... you have to run (or walk) at least 10 min every day of lent. While I'm not back up running form... this will sure help me get back into shape! To add the religious spin to it for those that are especially religious, some are meditating on a bible verse…

Usually lent is about sacrifice.... don't look for cheats. Lindt is candy )
-
Ha! I like it! One by one.

You're right, Rob, that I may be a little overly sensitive about it (or that is at least what FH husband says about it.) I may do things individually with the girls, but am not part of the "girl group." We will invite some of them individually or as a group to do this and that, and, but I am never invited to the group…

I'm a binger as well. I've found that I have trigger foods and I try not to have them in the house, going to the store to buy them is a lot harder. Someone said one day at a time (Just like AA) and that's how I try to look at it. I can do this just for today, which turns into weeks, which turns into months, which turns…

I keep having wedding anxiety dreams too... usually something goes wrong and I miss the wedding. My fiancee thinks I'm nuts!
-
I would say... keep it simple. There is really no need to have pumpkins AND golf balls. and leaf plates and thanksgiving plates. Even if you are getting married at a golf course (we are too btw) are you and your husband huge golf nuts? If you are, I'd stick with the golf idea, if not, stick with the fall theme. Nix the…

I'm getting marrried August 11th, 2012. I ordered a dress slightly smaller than I should have at the time (waist and hips were larger than my actual, bust were smaller) I hope to lose 30 lbs before then, but I'm pretty realistic on the marathon that is weight loss. I hope they have to take it in a bunch... and I'm ok with…

Yay! Thanks everyone... I'm looking forward to kicking *kitten* this year, winning at BL.. and looking smokin in that wedding dress. Also looking forward to seeing you guys lose it with me!

Thanks for the book advice jboot - I will check it out. There are definately trigger foods - the sweet/fatty trigger is always my downfall. My fiancee complains that I never "buy anything good" from the grocery store, but the fact is I just cannot control myself. I can't have it in the house... or I'll eat it all. I also…

Thanks for the add... look forward to starting the journey together!
