With 10-15 pounds to lose, you should be trying to lose half a pound a week at the most. That will give you another 250 calories/day. Also, you are at a healthy weight. At this point, many women have found success with eating at maintenance and doing heavy weight lifting. Don't fear the bulk. A lot of these ladies are…

Totally worth it

OP, I was going to post something similar this morning! Thanks, lavi for the response! Anybody else have some favorite (cheaper!) recommendations? I'm going to need at least two tops and two pairs of tights, and if I had $200 to drop on them, I'd probably just go buy a used treadmill!

Reasonable calorie deficits + adherence = results (Generally) Quit killing yourself to make it happen. It's just not necessary. Those HCG stories are scary. :noway:

IMO, the "nutritional coach" thing sounds like a load of BS and a waste of money. Do you even have to be certified to do that? What are they going to tell you that you don't already know? ^^This makes me think you should be talking to a mental health professional. When thoughts about ANYTHING are all-consuming, it can be…

skinny....now now here's a post you're more than welcome to get all worked up about. You wanna be all offended and have no one disagree with you, there you have it. And no one will be providing logical, rational arguments to refute your paranoia. Have at it!

My diary is open if you'd like to check it out. I get around 150g/day. Greek yogurt is key for me.

Short answer: Yes. But it is important to come in as close to your goal as you can. I look at mine as a week (Monday-Sunday) snapshot. So if I have underage/overage early in the week, I can compensate later. Life happens, you know. But those debits/credits go away on Sunday. No carryforward past that timeframe for me. Too…

Agree 100%. You should talk to a pro. Such situations can cause issues that linger forever. Thanks for sharing. :flowerforyou:

Right?! Links to peer-reviewed, scientific studies, por favor?

Shame on me for forgetting to read the stickies.... Next time I roll my eyes at a "Should I eat back my exercise calories?" post, I'll think twice. :blushing: Thanks, Leadfoot. Didn't realize there even was a SL warm-up app. I use the regular one and love it.

I have to second this a bit too. Your being winded during exercise does have to do with smoking, but getting fitter will help immensely. I've run a couple 5k's, done half of the Insanity program (got injured so had to quit), and a Warrior Dash. I'm sure I would be a lot better if I didn't smoke, but I'm also sure that if I…

I had a very similar experience. I still smoke. Losing the weight was my first priority. Baby steps will get you there. Tackling it all at once is setting yourself up for failure, IMHO.

Yep. You seem perfectly nice. But I think you're making excuses not to go. Sorry :flowerforyou:

I honestly don't get what you want. Muscle tone but not muscle definition?

We realize that more intake means a smaller deficit which means you lose more slowly. It also means that you are more likely to get adequate nutrition and to adhere to your plan, because you can eat more. Adherence is why the vast majority of "diets" (ugh that word) fail. So we address that by making it easier to adhere.…

This never got answered. Bueller?

Not weird. At around 210lbs and training for a 5k, I would do speed training, hill training, and distance runs on my gym's treadmill. Genetically I sweat buckets and I love to push myself hard. I got lots of encouraging comments that I always thought were directly tied to people's expectations of what someone my size…

See a marriage counselor. Done.

Agree so much!! Without those people, I would still be eating 1200cals/day and killing myself with hours of cardio, meanwhile deluding myself into thinking I wasn't hungry. Thanks, all!!  :ohwell: :flowerforyou:  :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

I'm sure this is difficult for you. Based on your other posts, you are recovering from an ED? You need to know that they are saying that to you more because they are perhaps uncomfortable with how thin you are. If these are close friends or family, I would let them know how it is affecting your recovery. If they aren't and…

I'm sure that was the point. I get that. Maybe I'm the only one who sees this as hypocritical...? Why is it ok to judge one but not the other? ETA: I know that OP's intention was to encourage us to uplift each other. I think that is a wonderful goal. I just don't think the delivery of the last sentence (ie: "the candles on…

Ironic because your coworker was all judgmental about the girl gaining weight since high school, while his fiance was perhaps heavier than her. I think your point was that he was fairly out of line for judging her. Then you proceed to be all snide about his fiance being 20lbs heavier than the other girl who, in your…

Quite ironic. However, sort of against the point of your story, no?
