Starting out. Now I have questions!
I started with NROLFW but found the focus of SL to be more my cup of tea. After Session 5, I'm at 5X5 of each: SQ@80lbs, BP@55lbs, BR@75lbs, OHP@50lbs, and DL@95lbs. I've been able to add weight and complete my sets each time, but feel like I'm at the end of newb gains, as I am starting to have to really push and feel…

Successes--Scale-related, NSVs, Life Stuff---Post 'em here!
I'm doing Insanity and I HATE burpees. During the 13th minute of pure cardio yesterday, I busted out 11 when I usually only do 9. The scale may not be moving (yet!), but I am fitter. That is a fact.

Who's getting 130g protein on 1800 cals (or just about)
First, let me say, I know there are threads out there. I've looked at most of them. A lot of those people are vegetarians or are going off the MFP standard of protein, which is waaaay lower than what I'm going for. I know the best sources: lean meats, low fat dairy, cheese, beans (meh) etc. I just cannot seem to figure out…

Intermittent Ankle Pain--Ideas?
I was treadmill running for months with no injuries. Then I began Insanity and started having trouble with my left ankle. I would have shooting pain that I would rate 7/10 during and sometimes after working out. I never worked through the pain for fear that I would do more damage. Finally, I decided not to finish the…

Sore....like really sore
NewB to heavy lifting, so if I say something off-base, just let me know! I'm not new to muscle soreness. I actually really like it. But after Workout A1 of NROLFW (Monday) my quads have been more sore than they've ever been. So tight that walking down stairs is scary and getting off the toilet is an act of valor. I did…

77 Down: 30 To Go, but I feel like I've lost it...
From January to June 2012, I lost 75ish pounds. I was a beast. No temptation was too big. No event enough to make me fall off the wagon. I researched restaurants before I went out and ate before I went to parties. I have maintained my loss for a year but have 30 pounds to go, but I can't seem to get back to that place…

Cardio vs. Heavy Lifting-Timing during weight loss
I know there are tons of threads out there, but I'd like some folks to weigh in on my specific situation. Thanks in advance!! I've lost about 75lbs and have around 35 to go. I weigh around 202 lbs at 5' 9" and want to be at 168ish. I already have a pretty muscular build. Right now I'm eating 1400-1500 calories/day and…

New Group--New Challenge
I could tell you the calorie count of hundreds of foods. Maybe that's why I feel like I don't have to log anymore. Maybe that's how you are too. Well, it takes 21 days to create (or recreate in our case) a new habit. So today I am committing to logging 100% of what I eat for the next 21 days. It seems daunting. I used to…

Maybe we should start here...Introduce yourself!!
My name is Brittany. I'm 28 and from Ohio. I've been at this for a year and a half. I've lost 75ish pounds and have 31ish to go. I'm so proud of what I've accomplished but also think that my success has made me a little complacent. I'd like to get to my ultimate or near-ultimate goal and then stay there. One person in the…

21 Day logging challenge
So we started a 21 day logging challenge on Monday! If you didn't start Monday, you can obviously start whenever lol. The idea is that it takes 21 days to create (or recreate) a habit. I know a lot of us have trouble on the weekends, for lots of reasons. Ice cream and Limeritas tend to be mine! Well....it's Friday!! I'm…

Super-supportive Marine in need of friends!
Hey, everyone! jdymond24 is a great friend of mine, and he could use some friends on MFP! He's a 27 year old Marine who is supporting his wife, another really good friend of mine in her weight loss goals. He has about 28 pounds to lose. He's a super-supportive and motivational guy, and you can count on him to log in daily…

Dating Advice??
With my recent weight loss, I have the confidence to date again. Restaurants, as we all know, pose a bit of a problem. Ordering modified dishes is how to address it, but when I do that, I feel like I will have to explain that I'm trying to lose weight. Which could lead to questions about how much I have lost and (god no)…

Foot Cramps
Looking for some answers here... It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it pretty much sucks. And I have to stop my workout! (Just for a minute). The arch of my foot (could be one or the other, usually not both) and my toes cramp during workouts sometimes. I am drinking enough water and eating a banana a day.…

Looking for recipes that will help me like fish
When I was a kid, I decided I didn't like seafood. Even fish sticks. As an adult I enjoy a lot of foods that I didn't like before, but am still a bit of a finicky eater. I like to cook and would like to broaden my horizons into trying some seafood...but I feel like the whole thing is a little overwhelming! Any advice on…

Help! I can't eat that much!!
Here's the deal. I weigh 251 pounds and have been trying to eat at least 1200 calories but not more than 1500 calories a day. I never eat back my exercise calories, and sometimes I have quite a lot (500-750 because I work out twice and am heavy so I burn more.) I realize that I may be eating too little, so I have been…

Looking for friends so we can support and motivate each othe
Hi there!! I have been using MFP since just after the new year and have lost 23 pounds and several inches!! I am looking for some friends to share support and motivation with. I pretty much always have the ambition to work out. I love the endorphin rush!! My downfall is food...going out with friends, being bored, emotional…
