Anything is moderation is fine, but I'm not a fan of the fake sweeteners, so I avoid things like that.

Honestly I only ever buy the co-jack blend & mozzarella at Sam's. So haven't really looked.

A lot of Kraft cheese is lactose free, look at the package & it will say contains 0 grams lactose (usually in small print) not all of it says this, but a lot does, my dh is lf & this has saved me a lot of money.

Aldi, Meijer, Sam's, Fresh Thyme. I also grow my own in the summer.

I just substitute gf pasta in pasta dishes, eat a lot of rice with veggies & meats. Use Braggs amino acid in place of soy sauce. There are some good GF flour blends, or you can make your own. GF baking just takes more work. This wrap bread is SOOO good and easy and I make it several times a week for my daughter & I. I only…

You don't need a yogurt maker, I used a heating pad and wrapped my quart jars with the yogurt mix in kitchen towlels, place on heating pad on med and put a large pot over them.

I buy dried chickpeas from www.azurestandard.com actually I buy quite a bit from them, but I have a family and it's cheaper. I have a vacuum sealer and seal things in jars or I freeze stuff. You can search for a drop in your area. I buy GF oats, rice flour and potato starch, tapioca starch regularly from them.

I agree, don't let people bully you into thinking you should have further testing. You know your body! If you feel better, then likely it's milk. Lactose intolerance usually causes bowel issues. My dh is lactose intolerant and that's what happens. If it is lactose, may hard cheeses are ok to eat. I avoid dairy for the…

There's a book you can read Dropping Acid: The Reflux Diet Cookbook & Cure https://www.amazon.com/dp/0982708319/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_P7YTwb2Q4NWND Also doing an elimination diet to find out whatbyou should stay away from might help.

Bob's Red Mill makes a gf pizza dough mix, if nothing else spurge on a few of those & pay shipping, dd will use corn tortillas as a pizza crust as well.

Yes, crumbs from a knife can definitely contaminate a container of whatever & then the crumbs can get on your food. Also, using the same toaster would do the same, if you were toasting gf bread or gf waffles.

I personally think it's nasty.

My favorite pre-made blend is Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1, however, there are many blends that you can make that use rice flour, potato and or tapioca starch and usually xanthum gum. It's much easier to find one you like and stick with it, than to throw stuff together. GF baking/cooking is so much different. Also, oats are not…

If you like soy sauce, Bragg's Amino Acids works great in place of it.

I did it & found out a lot more than a doctor would have. I figured out I've got Oral Allergy Syndrome (relating to pollen, so fresh fruits & vegetables can give me problems. I'm also sensitive to wheat, corn, soy & dairy. My daughter was having trouble with bm's & gas & found out it was wheat.

No, eat the 1500.

Family of 5, 3 teens, average $600/month on food. We have some dietary issues. I bake a lot from scratch, shop Meijer, Aldi, Sam's & Fresh Thyme, buy on sale & stock up, also garden in the summer & can/freeze stuff, including saving bones to make & pressure can broth. We rarely eat out.

You really need to watch the sugar content of GF things, that's what they are higher in, therefore higher in calories.
-
Also make sure you are using GF Steel cut oats and oatmeal. I like making meringue cookies out of egg whites. I do a lot of GF baking though and have found Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 flour is really good. GF baking can get expensive. Also, Bragg's Amino Acids is a great soy sauce substitute for stir fry.

If you are into baking and want to make tortillas, this recipe is REALLY good for being gluten free. I do use lard and not shortening and I also add a tsp of Xanthum gum, the 1st time I made them, they did not hold together, so I added it to help.…

I also want to add that if you do like to bake, Bob's Red Mill has some wonderful products that take the place of flour. My favorite is the 1 to 1 gf blend. It's pricey baking gf, but still cheaper than buying premade gf items.

Everyone needs to do what is best for THEIR body. For me, I've had issues with several things and gluten/wheat is one of them. I now eat GF, DF, Corn free & Soy free & feel SO much better, I also have Oral Allergy Syndrome, so most fruits & veggies have to be cooked because of pollen. I eat a lot of rice, stir fry using…

Can I ask what brand do you use now?
-
I'm not sure about oats, but they have a completely gf packaging facility for the gf products.
-
If you try & make gf products from scratch, your best bet is to buy a gf baking mix or blended flour. It gets pricey, I like Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 mix.

Yes shoes. Thanks for the tip on 2 pairs.
