  • WOW You sure did have a lot of work done at one time. How long were you under anesthesia for? So glad you are recovering and able to spend time at your parents home to recover even more. Looking forward to hearing more about your progress. Keep going strong!
  • Nicole Congratulations! Hope your all settled in and ready for your surgeries tomorrow. Good luck and please let us know when able how you are doing. I had the first of 4 excess skin removal surgeries done June 26th and I am still recovering. However I am 61 years old and had lost over 280 pounds. The Doctor said I could…
  • Yes I had to lose 317 pounds and as of today I have lost 280 pounds. I use to belly dance, ballroom dance, swim, play miniature golf and bowl. I was very active despite weighing 320 pounds until I was injured by a drunk. He caused me to have 4 herniated discs, which resulted in spinal stenosis. Within 4 years of that…
  • After losing 280 pounds I have excess skin everywhere. I am 61 years old and was obese all my life so there is no way my skin will shrink, it has to be removed through surgery. On March 21st I was suppose to have a breast reduction because the excess skin hangs down to my belly button. I kid you not. However that surgery…
  • I am about 15 months post op still not at goal and since March have been struggling. If I stay with dense protein I can usually eat about 4 ounces. However, I have found I can eat large amounts of carb sweet foods like cookies, cakes, protein bars and have even begun to drink wine. I know none of this is good for me but am…
  • WOW You look fantastic! 20 more pounds by Nov, You Can Do IT! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Have you gotten your dress ordered yet? I am sure you will have lots to choose from and will look so beautiful in it.
  • How about a multivitamin patch? I have been using one for over 3 months now. Email me and I will send you a few links of where you can obtain them.
  • For a minute there I thought I was reading my own posting. I too have lost over 200 and came from being bedridden with multiple disc and physical problems. I totally know where you came from and am so happy you are where you are now. I know how hard you worked for this huge weight loss. You are looking so happy and healthy…
  • I track my rides using MapMyRide. However I didn't know they updated. Usually MapMyRide calorie burn was higher than MFP for me. Maybe now they are more inline with MFP.
  • WOW you look great! Congratulations on your one year anniversary. I hope when I get to my 1 year I will see a big change as well. Still have 6 more months to go.
  • Hi Everyone while posting in my weight loss for the week on Lose 5 in July a little posting popped up that Roger posted in this group. When I saw that, it reminded me I have not post in a long time. Have read a few of the more result posting here. Roger it is great that you are still walking and posting each day. How the…

  • Hi Everyone just thought I would do an update as it has been about 6 months since I last wrote. I am now down to 275 pounds and as of Feb I started to ride an adult tricycle. The first time I rode only 10 minutes and went .68 of a mile. I have been riding 4 to 5 days a week and increasing my distance a little bit each…
  • For the newbies this statement is so very true. I started out at 0.65 and now I am doing 7.14. So no matter how slow you are you are welcomed.

  • Are these pictures of the route you took? How lovely to ride by all these beautiful landmarks. You bikes for over 6 hours? WOW that is impressive!
  • The appearing rainbow was seen on the TV news I was watching and I too thought how cool was that. Yep Prince was quite unique and will be missed. Sorry to hear about the flat but glad you got out of the rain storm and had it fixed.
  • These are all such wonderful NSV. You should all be so proud of yourselves. I was over on another thread about stalls and stated I hadn't lost anything since March 8th. However when I reread the thread I saw all the NSV's I listed and thought it is time to revisit you all and for me to brag a bit. 9 weeks ago I couldn't…
  • sorry I don't know why I keep posting under the wrong thread.
  • Hi all Another week gone. Stayed the same this week as far as weight is concerned. This is so difficult for me to understand as I have been biking 5 out of 7 days. yesterday and today I managed to bike up to 5.4 miles in 53 minutes so you would think the weight would be flying off especially when my calories are so low.…
  • ohhim How's the wind down there in the keys? Is it slowing you down any? I have been riding it in for days and it is really making me work twice as hard. Will report my rides and distance on Tuesday as usual for me.
  • Thanks Ohhim for that info. I can't imagine going on 100 mile rides at my weight. Someday when I am at goal I might. Singingsingle What beautiful photos. That must have been an awesome ride. I can't imagine riding on anything right now but flat land. Machka9 Good for you! I can see a difference.
  • Hi All Was a learning experience week for me. Discovered if I don't keep my protein and water up above a certain level my energy and strength is gone. Only had the energy to go on 3 trike rides this week for a total of 9.43 miles. I need to do better this week in both getting higher protein and water level and more miles…
  • Hi everyone I lost track of where this thread was posted and just discovered it again today. I thought it was under fitness and exercise but now I know it is under the challenge section. Boy my distances are so short compared to everyone else. However keep in mind I am over 280+ pounds so I am just glad to be able to be on…
  • Friday and Saturday where shorter distances and yesterday and today I haven't been feeling well. Maybe pushed myself to much last week and too soon after recovery. Tomorrow I go back to work so my triking schedule will have to change to Mon, Wed, Friday, Sat and Sun,
  • Hi There! This thread is perfect as I am planning to do a bike challenge in Feb 2017 and have all ready begun my training. I had three surgeries in one on Jan 26th and the Dr released me to bike ride again on Feb 19th. Well it is really riding an adult trike as I am physically limited in my balance and ability to walk. I…
  • Hey Roger where did everyone go? Looks like you got your own blog going here over the past week. I had my 1 month followup yesterday and the surgeon was very pleased with my recovery. He released me so I get to go back to work on Tuesday. Since Friday Feb 19th I have been back on the bike. Was only able to go 0.64 of a…
  • Thanks everyone for all the info and encouragement. Seeing as how I have issues with limited mobility and balance riding a Miami Sun trike is what I need to do right now. It would be grand if by next year I could ride a bike. However when I reach 14 miles on the trike I'll look at the possibility of a bike. Today I did…
  • Bring this thread back from the dead since I started riding again. Trying to ride the trike at 360 pounds and with all the health problems I had was getting harder and harder for me. I have since had my gallbladder removed, hernia repaired and various nodules from various organs removed. I have also lost 67 more pounds for…
