  • That's amazing! Congrats :) I can't wait until I can say the same thing.
  • I take tylenol...even though I agree with you, it doesn't do much for me. I also soak and use Icy Hot or hot/cold packs as needed which seems to help a bit.
  • Hm, I'm going to follow you guys and try to just start with liquid when I wake up...I typically eat breakfast about 30 minutes after waking up, so perhaps my pouch just needs a little time. Thanks for your input!
  • Congratulations! That's going to be one amazing vacation. Enjoy every minute of it--you deserve it :)
  • Haha honestly I packed a ton of stuff and didn't use half. My go-to's were: A pillow from home Ipod a Puzzle book-- I'm a sudoku and word puzzle nerd sandals chapstick (you will desperately want this haha) comfy clothes--we're talking baggy pants and loose t-shirts hair ties/bands/whatever you use Cell phone
  • Try to remain calm, you're about to make a huge change in your life--for the better! You've worked hard for this and pretty soon you will be living the healthy lifestyle you deserve. I wish you the best of luck! Keep us all posted.
  • I actually went through the same thing. I asked my Dr. at my first post meeting, and she said it is most likely mental. I was typically hungry in the a.m. and before surgery I was a huge breakfast eater, so more than likely I am getting used to my new routine, and my mind needs time catching up. I don't think it's anything…
  • I agree, 10 lbs in a month is excellent! Exercising may possibly be slowing down your scale numbers...but it is never going to be something negative in terms of weight loss. You will lose inches, boost heart health, gain muscle, etc. All of which are positive things! You've already lost a lot of weight and you are still…

  • Haha I already can't wait for that first bite!
  • Exactly the frame of mind I'm sticking to. Thanks guys!
  • That's so spot on, my thoughts exactly! I'm glad you've come to a decision you're comfortable with Geri. Best of luck! -Jess
  • Wow, Onaughmae, I feel like a wimp for complaining about 1 week when you had to struggle through 2. Way to go! I can already tell that SF jello is going to be my saving grace this week...it's the closest I will get to chewing, haha. Thanks for the support!
  • Thanks everyone! I'm trucking along...even though it's day one. Protein shake and sugarfree jello...the lunch of champions. I appreciate your advice and well wishes :) You're all great motivation!
  • Thanks for the words of encouragement Stef! I've been gulping down water like it's my job in an attempt to ignore the hunger cravings...so far it's doing an ok job at distracting me. I'm just hoping this week goes fast.
  • Geri, this is something I have been struggling with as well. This is such a personal decision and not everyone can understand or respect it. So I have told a few people who I knew would be supportive of me on this journey, because the last thing I needed was negativity during this time. Perhaps eventually I will let people…
  • Congratulations! That's so exciting. I too had to go through the same process...which felt like forever...and then June was here before I knew it and I was approved! My surgery is on the 19th, I'm having RNY, and I can't be more excited to begin this journey. I look forward to hearing about your progress through MFP! Good…
  • That's incredible! Congratulations. I'm hoping to has such great success as well pretty soon.
  • Thanks everyone! I appreciate all of your suggestions and support. Kfink426, thanks for the heads up on the Tylenol...I would have never have thought of that! Minkakross, I actually read your liquid thread...and to be honest it intimidated me, haha! I start my liquid diet on the 12th of June...so right now I'm just…
  • Haha thanks for the heads up on the mood swings...I had no clue... I guess I should give everyone a warning now. How long was your drain in for? My surgeon never mentioned one...but I haven't had my pre-surgery meeting yet, so that doesn't mean I won't have one. You look like you have been so successful, I'm hoping one day…
  • Thanks! It's not that I feel like I can't...I know one dinner isn't going to make me gain all of my weight back and that I can plan for special occasions and whatnot....but for now (I have faith that it won't always be like this) one meal turns in to "well let's just get dessert too" and then the next day I give myself lag…
  • Hey Everyone! My name is Jess and I have been with my boyfriend [now fiance as of yesterday :) ] for almost 5 years. When we first started dating we were both considerably smaller. He had always been thin, and I was in the middle of a weight loss journey--down about 80 lbs. However, as the years went by the stress of…
  • I'm sorry to hear that you're frustrated, but when you really put things in to perspective, 2 lbs in 2 weeks isn't bad. Doctors recommend 1-2 lbs lost a week, so you're right on track. Also, if you're only eating 200 calories at meals, that mean's you're only eating around 1,000 calories a day, perhaps you should think…
  • Congratulations! That's so amazing :)
  • That's great! Glad to hear you are doing well. I can't wait until it's my turn haha
  • Congratulations! I can't wait to be in your position...I'm in the process of getting ready for surgery and hope to have a date in June. I'd love to add another support buddy to my list :)
  • Sending positive thoughts/vibes your way! Good luck with it and keep us posted. How exciting :)
  • Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to this too. Just trying to get find friend/motivation on here. I have a long journey ahead of me (looking to lose 100+) so I'm willing to support anyone else in for the long haul too!
