EVERYTHING above is correct!. Slow down. Repeat days or weeks as needed. Get good running shoes fitted by a shoe expert. You will be surprised how fast you will progress once you stop killing yourself. Also, nobody is laughing at you. They are all thinking you are AWESOME!

My favorite is the Moving Comfort Juno. One piece; racer back; 3-hook closure in the back. Fit is snug and secure and it will keep the girls from doing the unwanted happy dance. Look at a good quality sports or running store. Good luck.

Do you have any suggestions for me? I run 3+ miles 5 days a weeks. I'm trying to get stronger so I can move beyond that.

It's really already been said, but I'm throwing my two cents worth in, anyway. I am a 67 year old woman who was 40 pounds over my goal weight when I started running and my PT at the time was steadfastly against my taking up running. He was concerned about injuries. I got a C25K program, started using it, then promptly…

I love this thread! It makes me feel so much less guilty because I always think I'm the only person who has no self-control and succumbs to random snacking or buffet pig outs or unabashedly enjoying family parties! From now on I am going to stow the guilt and log every delicious, forbidden morsel I eat! No sense in trying…

Your "short run" was only a waste of time if you let that defeat you and don't run again. Seems like the hill is your nemesis. Walk up if you have to, but keep on going. It's the negatives in your brain that shut your body down. Just keep on and never, ever give up. Good luck.

According to FitBit, stairs are measured in elevation changes of 10 feet, so that might account for the inaccuracy you are getting. It helped me to make sense of it. If you are walking or running and change elevation, i.e., hills, that will be counted as steps and stairs. Hope this helps.

Sustained motivation is a problem for me, too! It seems I wake up with the very best of intentions and before I've finished my first cup of tea I've wrecked my day by eating something I didn't really want and that didn't taste good to me. Blech!!! I've been plateaued for almost a 3-month time period and I'm not happy about…

Make sure you have appropriate running shoes that fit correctly and have a roomy toe box.

So, what is AdvoCare?

Now that's funny!

I've lost 30 pounds and a bunch of it was body fat, but I still have that troubling double roll at the abdomen and just above the belly button. When I push on the area I feel firmness under the squish on top, so I can only conclude that there is still an excessive amount of fat above the muscle layer. But, I can see parts…

Yes, it does. Thanks so much for the input.

I've used both the c25k and Easy 5k with Jeff Galloway. I think the c25k pushes you just a bit more, but I like the Easy 5k better.

This sounds really good. Do you have a calorie count?

What a great success for you! I love skinny jeans and bought a pair in size 10, down from size 16 and they are now sagging in the butt! Couple more pounds/inches and I will be buying a size 8. IMPOSSIBLE! Keep up the great work.

I started at 172 late last summer, lost 25 pounds over 10 weeks during a weight loss competition, and joined mfp at 145 in January. I'm down 3 more pounds and have 18 to go until I think I will be where I want to be. It's all hard and my will is weak, but I just keep on keeping on. Good luck to you. Add me if you would…

Curious as to how the HRM compares to "circuit training" for the 30DS?
-
I am impressed. Good on you! Keep up the hard, hard work.

Could be that having at least one smart *kitten* friend will knock me off this plateau that I'm on. Add this old lady if you care too!

Thanks! I have that app on my iPad but haven't tried it yet. Will check it out tomorrow.

This is all funny! Begone, Conda! Please. Adrian was booted tonight so that is one less excuse-making Loser to hit the road. Oh, Red, how you have disappointed me this season.

I am 66 years old and started running last October. I entered and completed a 5K on December 31, jogging/walking the route in 42.04 minutes. That makes it a little over 13 min/mi. Unfortunately I developed a groin injury while training (read that overtraining) for that 5K and am not able to train as hard as I want to. I…

This has given me an entirely new perspective on oatmeal, which I love. Thanks for all the input and I shall be trying some of these variations.

What a difference a year makes! Wonderful!

172. It was pretty gruesome on a 5'4" small frame. Not going there again! EVER!!

I love this advise! I started it yesterday and after drinking two glasses of water and eating a tub of yogurt I fell into a 3-hour nap. I don't want that to happen again as I was up until 4 a.m. Getting ready to do the Shred again and this is a great tip for me!

One of the first things Jillian says, as she is beating you up, is that she has 400 pound clients who can do this! Start where you are and go from there. Frankly, I was whipped when I was done with Level 1 Day 1, sweating and shaking, and took a nap. But now I am energized and not sore. Do what you can do but keep moving.…
