This is what I was thinking. Nowadays, it's hard to find anything with JUST sugar in the ingredient list....

Is HFCS not calculated in this?

Try going gluten free for one month. Then, eat something with gluten, and see how you feel. By that time, it'll have all worked out of your system and you can truly see (or feel rather) whether or not it bothers you.

That's a very interesting fact. Can you show me the research on this?

We get eggs from some friends, and they'll have some wacky sizes too lol. I'm envious of you - I'd love to have access to my own home grown eggs!

Yes, it is. :) And it sounds good, too! My breakfast since going paleo/primal is good ol' bacon and eggs. The few months I've been doing this, it NEVER gets old. I fry my eggs in nitrate free bacon grease that we've 'collected' lol

Sauteed green beans and mushrooms with toasted, sliced almonds!

I have been trying to send my kids primal lunches for school, and start them off with a good breakfast that isn't SAD, and when I ask them if they stayed full all day, they said "yah, we weren't hungry at all!". So I do try to use that and explain that when they have a breakfast that isn't cereal but rather full of…

Here ya go! http://www.bulletproofexec.com/how-to-make-your-coffee-bulletproof-and-your-morning-too/ Blending it is pretty essential, as I did not realize the first few times I made it. Otherwise, you'll have oil and butter sitting on top of your coffee, which isn't all that bad, but once you've had it blended, it's hard…

In another thread I mentioned that the Green & Black's 85% dark chocolate is a big favorite/go to of mine when I need a chocolate fix. The nutritional info is something like 5g fiber, 20% iron, plenty of healthy fat; yah I'd say it's not too bad :)

Not sure if anyone has sent you a message or anything, but here ya go  http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/717443-whole30-september-challenge

I've always been a chocoholic, but I'm able to keep control of things with Green & Black's 85% dark chocolate. I do what AmyRhubarb said and break a couple pieces off and just let them melt in my mouth. It's so rich that one or two bites at a time do me just fine. Plus, the higher dark chocolate like that is actually…

Artisana coconut butter!! That stuff is awesome. I also love the 365 brand of coconut oil

Where did you hear this?

Ditto. Olive oil is also great for making your own salad dressings, too. Don't be put off by fats; they're essential for good health and will help you lose weight, actually, by providing the nutrients you need and helping you feel fuller.

Welcome, and congrats! :)

I haven't bought any books yet; so far I've relied on websites and podcasts. But, I do want to get a couple of the books, like Well Fed, and maybe Eat Like a Dinosaur for my kids. But I'm a little worried it might be out of their age range? They're 10 (almost 11) and 9?

It sounds like you've recognized the problems, and have a good plan of attack! :) I have a pale/primal Pinterest board too: http://pinterest.com/runninragged/eat-like-a-caveman-paleo-lifestyle/ I try to leave notes and comments on the ones of tried. Can't wait for fall so I can try all my soup recipes!

Losing 81lbs is an awesome accomplishment! Congrats on your loss so far :) There's quite a few on here that are primal and paleo, so if decide that it's a change you'd like to make, you'll have a great support group!

Eating a paleo/primal diet will definitely help you lose. However, most look at it as more of a lifestyle change, rather than a quick way to lose weight. I can say that since switching to a primal lifestyle, it's helped me lose those last few stubborn pounds, and my energy levels have been awesome. Overall, I *feel* so…

At least you're cute

So... if you are what you eat, then...? Hehehehe

I agree! My daughter's addiction to bread (and sweets) worries me, so that's why I've done my best to cut it out; with the exception of the occasional treat. I've explained to her that, as a parent, I have a responsibility to make sure she gets the best nutrition. She'll usually let out a rather heavy sigh, then concede…

Welcome, and good luck!

When I have a high day or two, I'll follow it up with one or two low days. Mostly because I'm not as hungry after I eat really high. But, it does help balance things out, and I'll usually have a loss along with it. Today I had over 2200 calories, so tomorrow I'll probably be pretty low; maybe around the 800-900…

I found this website recently and found it pretty helpful: http://www.thepaleomom.com/2012/01/paleo-for-kids.html I want to give my kids a head start in their life, so I try to get them to eat paleo as often as I can. We're a week and a half into school, and so far I've made all but 2 of their lunches for them. I do…

I've been trying to lose those last few pounds to reach my goal weight, and the weight loss at this point is CRAZY slow. My body has a twisted attachment to that bit of extra baggage, I'm afraid. lol So, for me, because my body is so comfortable where it's at, I really have to mix things up now and then. One thing that's…
