I didn't have a chance to read all of the posts but I like the quote from This Means War. "Don't pick the better guy. Pick the guy that makes you the better woman." I think that can go both ways.

I don't put much stake in someones name as far as giving them a chance. I have dated A LOT of guys with A names and that hasn't stopped me from dating another. (My current boyfriend's name is Aaron) He is amazing. How silly would I feel if I had said no based on his name?!

That is a very extreme version of what I am talking about. I have little pangs of insecurity for a few minutes and I don't say anything because I know he is not a bad guy... If your friend that you hooked up with is ok with you dating his friend I'm not sure what the issue is.. It might be a little akward but your sexual past really isn't something you have to tell him about, as a matter of fact it is better if you leave the past right where it is at most of the time.

I got more e-mails than I sent when I was on Match.com, and I ended up getting serious with someone who messaged me first but I was into the guys I e-mailed first as well. I think you should do what you want and don't be afraid.

I say go for it if you see potential... You might want to wait a little while to unload the baggage that is your past. We all have our "stuff" but you want to unload it on someone new slowly.
