The best way to break a habit is to start a new one in its place that gives you a bit of a reward. the only thing that I can see that could go wrong for you chewing a lot of gum is to make sure your jaw doesn't start to hurt. Then you can run into some problems.

Doritos are probably the bane of my existence. I would make a plate of those and dump a bunch of sharp cheddar on top to make nachos.

I can't tell you how many times I've stopped at Casey's so impulsively and grabbed a piece of pizza. It is really good pizza.

That is a great idea. If you want it, go to the trouble of making it. AND I bet homemade is still a little more healthy than store bought.
