  • I was thinking about that surgery! Very excited to hear about your results. I'll send you a friend request :)
  • Oh and Peggy. No worries. Thank you for freaking me out. That seems to be the best for me because I get a bit obstinate about things until they are shocked into my brain :)
  • Thank you Laura. I know forgiving is sometimes the hardest Part! Susan - yes let's do coffee. My appointment is on Tuesday. I am in Tempe so Scottsdale is a quick trip on the 101 :)
  • Thanks everyone. I have a scheduled appointment next week and am looking forward to touching base with the nutritionist. The funny thing is I know what to do and not to do. I thought the fear of surgery would shock me into shape--at least keep me from making bad choices so early on. Food is a friend of 34 years, so…
  • Could it be sciatica? Mine flared up after surgery which I bet had to do with all that sitting and the air they pumped me full of. I hope it gets better soon.
  • Good to know! Thank you. I ate some Greek yogurt and it seemed to clear it up! Who knows?!? :)
  • Thank you. Unfortunately I am not allowed any of those foods at this phase :-/ I can't wait to eat a more balanced diet...
  • My doc told me colace is good because it draws water into the bowels. Haven't had to use it yet though...
  • What a wonderful feeling that must be--and such a feeling of accomplishment. WAY TO GO!!
  • Plateau's happen and they happen more quickly than you would think. I stalled for 3 weeks, but now I am moving again. Down almost 30 lbs in 6 weeks. So stay positive try not to weigh yourself everyday and don't get discouraged.
  • Thanks for the invites :)

  • Thanks for the positive feedback! Susan - I think you're right on the 2 month timeframe. I can hold out until then :) T-28days. Maybe I'll get my energy back and won't "need ;-)" caffeine! XOXO
  • It's like having a baby, no matter how much we try and tell you, you won't really know until it happens. Everyone is different and I would suggest not to dwell on the what-ifs and the circumstances around anyone else's experience. It so much depends on your body and you surgeon. Go in with that excitement that you are…
  • Thanks. I need caffeine, so decaf isn't doing it for me. Even tea. I guess I will call the doc, I was just wondering if anyone had already been cleared...
  • It sounds like you're doing the right things. Some things to consider is upping your protein and lowering breads like carbs. It also seems like your daily caloric intake is very low which may ne contributing to the plateu. If you haven't spoke. To your doctor I would and see if they can offer words of support. Good luck.
  • What are you eating now? Are you exercising? It sounds like you are doing great, just stick to it. Some things you may want to ensure you are doing are: - cardio Vs weights (you may build Muscle and lose body weight more slowly) - lots and lots of water! - no starch or sugar - protein shakes can be helpful - make sure you…
  • Hang in there, I know this is discouraging but look how far you've come! As a lot of people already said this is an unfortunate side effect of WLS. Not that it makes you feel any better but at least you are not alone. Do you have support at home? I am in tempe and would happy to be there if you need someone to come by and…
  • WOO HOO! Get ready to take your life back! It is such an empowered decision you have made, and a long wait too. This is all a journey, just be sure to check in for support along the way!
  • Very exciting!!! I am so happy for you, you are one step closer to taking your life back! This is a journey, not the easy way out like some folks think. You have made an empowered decision and we are all here to help support you!
  • Thanks everyone I appreciate the advice and support
  • Great ideas all! Thank you, I am sure everyone got a chance to learn about a new protein shake. WARNING: Isopure is a love or hate, I thought it was horrible!!!! But it was the purple and blue ones. I like the powder mixed with stuff, but not everyone can do that early on. So make sure to try 1 or 2 before you commit to…
  • @BeautyFromPai - You have NO RIGHT casting stones. Keep you nasty opinions to yourself. There is a support group on here for WLS folks so you can join and have support instead of judgements. Be kind to yourself. Do what you need to do, and yes know it is a tool to help you get out of risk from the severe obesity. As long…
  • Compare the vitamins and take a different one that matches. It is ridiculous for them to be adamant about 1 brand which is also expensive. Do what works for you. Besides my doc is the director of Mayo clinic bariatric and he offers multiple suggestions. So there are other good brands out there. Good luck!
  • Thank you. I had gastric bypass and everyone said you can't really do wrong the first 6 months. I haven't deviated in anyway so thats why it is so frustrating...
  • I bought natures plus - really not bad, but they are vitamins. It was waaaaaay better than the BA crystals. A word of warning to anyone looking to buy BA products - they are OVERLOADED with artificial sweetener and very hard to handle. The calcium chews are yummy, but you have to take 6 a day which is expensive. The…
  • Hi, I understand your concerns and think that (if you haven't already) you should attend and information session on the different types of surgery. GB has come a long way and the malnutrition theory is true if you do not take your vitamins and get enough water. Those are the 2 most difficult things. To address the idea of…
