  • Currently restarting supernatural. It's kicking my butt. or thighs actually. yikes.
  • I'm not a huge sweet eater. I like a good dessert as much as anyone, but I don't crave those. I'm more likely to go for a sweet/tart or sweet/salty combo when I do go for dessert. That said, I've been trying to pay attention to "hidden" sugars and get mine from more natural sources. As far as detox goes, lots of water and…
  • Trip to Scotland over Easter. I lost 6 pounds last time with all the walking. Hoping to do that again but also just to be in better shape to have more energy for all that walking.
  • OK Current 154.2 Up and down little bits all week, and I forgot we had one more family holiday party! Walked hall and gym laps at least 10 minutes every weekday before school, usually more. Trying to increase overall activity in the hopes of actually working up to full-out workouts. Tracked all weekdays but no weekends.…
  • I did the "I'm in" thing but not sure what other info you need. Current 153.2 Goal 125 I'm a daily weigh-er but will choose Mondays for this. That weight is current.
  • Starting weight - 135 Current weight - 153.2 January goal - 5lbs Ultimate goal - 125 The holiday parties are over. Time to go!
  • In. Will weigh in the morning. :)
  • I'll echo what a couple have said about veggies. You can eat LOTS of them without as many calories as the other stuff. As for soups, try blended squash or potato; you can add just a dollop of cream but get that same creamy consistency. And broaden your horizons for broth and juice based soups. Many different flavors to try…
  • You go!
  • Where's the "like" button...?
  • Just list extras in snacks
  • I'm climbing back on this horse, and I can use all the help I can get, too! At this rate, I should just put a trampoline next to the horse...
  • Good for you!. Keep those goals small and celebrate each one. Concentrate on how you feel and not on scale numbers or clothing sizes. Here's to better health.
  • My Curves closed. A lady came in and opened a private club with a very similar concept. She had done the same in a neighboring town. Honestly, I don't know whether to rejoin. Because I don't live in the same town, I never get there. I should try to coordinate it with taking the kids to the pool or something.
  • I am having a rotten time getting to Curves. We live in one town, I work in another, and my kids go to school in the one where Curves is, and where we do most of our shopping, etc. I try to plan errands so I get there, but their hours and my crazy work/life schedule make it hard. I work at a high school, so I'm planning to…
  • I follow this method, too. I also made sure that my wiifit scale matched the bathroom scale, and I switched back to weighing daily on the wiifit, then doing 10-15 minutes of exercise. It definitely isn't a huge calorie burner, but I feel like that little bit of exercise sort of wakes up my metabolism and gets me humming…
  • Our gym is carpeted, so you need slippery shoes or sleeves for them. I gave my knee a good twist once when I tried Zumba. I gave it a couple tries with different teachers, just not for me. Might try the community ed version to see if its any better.
  • Just 20 minutes today. Cut it short when they started Zumba. Just can't do it. Too much mechanical, marching band, keep-to-the-beat trained into me to deal with the, um, freestyle at our Zumba.
  • I'm a teacher who waits tables part-time, too, and I set my activity level to "moderate." I log my serving shifts because they are out of my normal routine. If I ever went back to serving full time -God (and knees!) forbid- I would set my activity level to high and not log shifts, because I would do it nearly every day.…
  • Hello all! Height: 5'2" SW/CW 143 XMAS Weight: 135 Final goal: 120 (BMI 22)
  • Crawled out of bed and forced myself to go at 5:45 this morning. Glad I did it. I'm having a heck of a time getting there in the afternoon/evening. I managed to go once on vacation in Europe. We're going to Costa Rica for 5 days at the end of the week, so I'm hoping to get to one there. It's fun to go in another country…
  • I really think it depends on how much a gym owner feels they can afford to staff with coaches. Curves corporate wont allow unstaffed open hours.
  • Happy faces are awesome motivators.
  • I think it costs around $12k for a location to install Curves Smart. :(
  • Those sound like realistic goals! One step at a time...
