  • I'm so glad I found this thread. I was really beginning to wonder if anyone would notice. *I* definitely notice, in looser pants and a smaller stomach, and my husband has noticed, but general people in my life have not. That's OK, though, I'm definitely feeling better already. I'm down 16 lbs, and I know I hid it well when…
  • Yep, still use mine! kelly@redhotbeads.com
  • If there's a private group - can I join? I'm starting (medically supervised) HMR on Oct. 18 and could use some like-minded people to share thoughts with. :)
  • I start HMR Decision Free on Oct. 18 - I'm in a university weight-loss research program, so it's medically supervised. I would love to be in contact with anyone who is doing HMR ... I've never done anything like this before, it would be awesome to have other people to talk to. :) Kelly
  • You look lovely! Huge congratulations and hugs to you!
  • Labatt Blue Light Lime - just make sure it fits into your daily plan and it's all good!
  • Well, Alcide *IS* being kinda douchey this season, but he's still awesome to look at. I would happily be Eric's plaything, though. MMMMMM HMMMMMM! I LOVE Lafayette's one-liners. He's awesome. But damn, this season has been disappointing so far. I think it's the final season if I'm not mistaken.
  • Yep, have to agree: WW wasn't for me. I lost ten lbs on it last year (the most I ever lost in many stops and starts) but gained it back. Not WW's fault - but - MFP is a lot more transparent. I like tracking my foods, their actual calories, and the level of support here. It's a lot more user-friendly. I linked my Jawbone to…
  • Eric, followed closely by Alcide .... OH MY. Alcide without a shirt on? YES PLEASE!! :)
  • Polish, Irish, and Scottish.
  • I have to agree with 89; I've had much better luck with -20% TDEE than I did with the 1430 MFP set me at. Here's another thread on the subject: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 Good luck!
  • Hi, Just found this thread and thought I'd say hi ... I'm 47... need to lose about 20 more lbs ... I've started MFP plenty of times, but this is the first time I've been consistent with it. I started following TDEE -20% rather than MFPs recommendation and so far I have to say it's working. I like to go to the gym 2-3x a…
  • Looks like I can join the club - I had mine out six weeks ago. Promptly put on five pounds and am having a really difficult time losing them - despite tracking diligently on MFP and now wearing a Jawbone UP. Truthfully, I had NO idea that gallbladder removal would have any impact on weight loss! So I'm still doing what I…
  • I too had occasional problems for years. I went for a physical in April, doctor pushed on my gallbladder and I about came unglued. I had it removed laparoscopically May 10. I haven't had issues with very many foods - but - I gained five lbs and am having one hell of a time losing it. I now have a Jawbone UP and track my…
  • I love it. It really prompts me to get up and move, even if it's just walking down the hall at work and back. I find I get more steps in and it keeps me more accountable. I've been at it about four weeks, only lost 4 lbs so far, but I really do like it. I think it's accurate and easy to use. :)
  • I do, even when it's hard to see. It puts me into the "knock that off!" mentality. I also like to log in every day out of habit, so I might as well keep track even when I fall off the trail.
  • Age: 47 SW: 204.5 CW: 200 GW: 175 Height: 5'5.25" I'm not as concerned with the weight number as I am with gaining more muscle and getting back in shape.
  • I gave it up, just because of all the stuff said about nutrasweet. If I really have to have a soda, I have a regular Coke (rarely). Every now and again, though, I HAVE TO HAVE a Diet Pepsi. Nothing wrong with having one every once in a blue moon.
  • Depression is hell! I've suffered from it for about 20 years now, two deep depressive episodes in fifteen years -- otherwise, managed well with meds and believe it or not, exercise. I have found that when I'm exercising, I feel better than I do when I don't. And don't get me wrong - sometimes it is an absolute b*tch to…
  • I'll add you too, Dave. I also have a computer job - I set my idle alert for 45 min.
  • Reading all these responses gives me a lot of hope. I've tried running in the past, but it has never really worked for me - my biggest problem being shin splints! What's the best way to combat them?
  • You can add me too = Kelly Elliott.
  • Hey, I could've written that! I am right there with ya. Last year I lost 13 lbs. Guess what? I gained it back. I had surgery a couple weeks ago and can just now start walking again, and I'm another week until I can do any weights. Of course in the meantime I had a bunch of life stuff go on, my gym attendance was spotty at…
  • I was wondering if anyone w/ CKD was on here. My GFR bounced between 48 and 60 and I have a family history, so I am trying to eat a lower protein, more kidney-friendly diet to at least keep my GFR where it is. I'm wondering whether I can change my "optimal" nutrients on here to track that way.
  • Hi Kelly - as soon as I can figure out how to add you to my Up, I will -- in the meantime, add me too! Kelly (at) redhotbeads (dot) com. :) Kelly
  • I just got mine this week, too, and am just starting out. If anyone wants to add me, my address is kelly (at) redhotbeads (dot) com. :) Kelly
  • I just got one and really like it! Just connected it to MFP today. Kelly
  • I had a Fitbit, which worked great (until it went through the wash). I did some more research and bought a Jawbone - if you look on eBay, there are some available out there (I got mine for about half price). I have a HTC One and i really like the Jawbone ap and the fact it all works with my phone and doesn't need to be…
  • Levi 515 stretch boot cut ... though my goal weight buy will be a pair of Lucky! :)
  • I tried it years ago, but it honestly did nothing for me. At that time, though, I wasn't exercising. My health insurance also wouldn't cover it, so that was a bummer. I have heard lots of people have success with it, though. I didn't have any side effects when I took it. My appetite was slightly reduced, but still present…
