  • Good work everyone  I went from 214 to 145 and I'm 5'6.
  • Would you be willing to post your seitan recipe by any chance? I've never thought of making it myself. I used to be vegan but I really struggled with my food intake and I gained a lot of weight. I've been eating organic/free range meat for the last year trying to get my health and weight under control but ultimately I aim…
  • I actually never told anyone that I was losing weight for the same reasons. I've now lost 31kg (68lbs) and people definitely noticed so I just acknowledge it when people notice. It's not something that I felt the need to bring up on my own.
  • I feel healthier and have a lot more energy and less headaches (when I strictly limit added sugar). I'm also much more sensitive to all of the basic medications like paracetamol etc. Pain killers are more effective when I need them but I also can't take ibuprofen or psudoephedrine anymore because they both knock me around…
  • I've lost two friends. Mostly due to jealousy I suspect. They would eye roll everytime I saw them and ask me why I'm still losing weight. They're both about the size I was when I started and I've lost 30kg (66lbs) which puts me at the top of the healthy range now.
  • I can definitely relate to that. Most of my weight was gained in a prior relationship after we moved in together. I was already a little overweight before that but then I gained a further 18kg. I've now lost 29kg and I'm at the top of the healthy range so I'm towards the end of my journey but if you want to add me for…
  • I use Bare Blends WPI. First one I've tried that I really like.
  • I LOVE combat. Pump is great too but I've only been once and want to keep going. I also want to try attack but I haven't yet. Maybe I will this week once I recover from all of the squats that I did today!
  • I scored a 15 but that's probably because I manage to control it mostly. I think about food constantly though.
  • I started taking the kind organics women's multi after I got a job at a primary school and started catching all of the bugs off the kids. I haven't gotten sick again once in the 8 months or so since I've been taking them (touch wood).
  • Still going but the last pic is where I am now. I went from 97kg and I'm now 68kg. Aiming for closer to 60kg I think.
  • I make spicy lentil patties by mashing lentils with cooked red onion, garlic, tandoori paste, egg and breadcrumbs. They're really yummy with some natural yoghurt and sweet potato chips. Sometimes I also make burgers out of them.
  • I also find that it's lower than what calculators predict. I'm not quite at goal yet but I recently maintained at 149 lbs for 6 months eating 1650 calories net per day give or take a little. Definitely lower than what calculators say I should be able to eat.
  • No, not if someone is hitting on me for their own gain. I think it's nice if people give compliments expecting nothing in return but I really dislike being hounded for attention when I'm just trying to do the grocery shopping or on my way to meet a friend etc.
  • Depending on where you're located, there are food delivery services where you pay a weekly fee and they drop off all of the food for your dinners along with recipes telling you what to cook with the ingredients that they have given you. In Australia, there is Hello Fresh that do that and they are pretty good. I've tried…
  • I used to bake a lot and eat wayyy more than single portions. If I made blueberry muffins, I would eat 3 or 4 a day until they were gone. I used to sometimes make sticky date pudding too. After plugging the recipe into MFP, I have discovered that a single serve is 500 calories. I never thought it was healthy but 500 cal on…
  • My groceries are delivered to me by a local food co op (direct from farmers). My usual shop includes: -A box of fruit and veggies, whatever is in season. I don't get to choose which saves me on cost. -Milk -Raisins -Oats -Eggs Then if I want meats, there is an organic butcher near my uni that has the best meat I have ever…
  • Berries, cheese and tomatoes are the really expensive things that I like to eat. I haven't bought berries in yonks because the prices are insane. They're in season in Australia and it's still about $7 for a tiny punnet of blueberries. I just don't buy them which is sad because I do like them a lot.
  • Eh. Not really. I don't eat clean or follow any of the "natural" hype on things. I would just rather boost my intake of vitamins with something that actually resembles food since that's what it's replacing (the nutrients lost in food/eating at a deficit).
  • Most vitamin supplements are synthetic and most calcium supplements are made from rocks which humans do not ordinarily eat. Hence, there is a lot of discussion about how well they really work. The only decent multi that I've found is the Kind Organics, once daily by Garden of Life. I order them on iherb all the way from…
  • It's really up to you and what keeps you the most full and satisfied. It doesn't matter how you divide them. However, in terms of what works for me, I would divide your calories like this: Breakfast: 370 Lunch: 370 Snacks: 100 Dinner: 600
  • I dislike all fast food except pizza and even then it has to be a more upmarket pizza joint. I wasn't raised on fast food and it all tastes gross to me. I also don't like soft drink (soda) and I'm not much into alcohol either. I sound incredibly boring haha but it makes losing weight easier.
  • Dita Von Teese. Sadly my boobs aren't as awesome as hers :p
  • Hey there  At 150lbs, you're definitely not massive but looking after your health is always a good thing. I've struggled a lot with depression and anxiety too and what has worked wonders has been daily exercise and a nutritious diet. Exercise is great for the endorphins and I think the act of physically caring for…
  • Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah in Australia, thrift stores are called op shops and that's where I've been doing a lot of my shopping since I've been losing weight. I just miss having nice clothes in exactly the styles I want you know? I think I'll get a couple of nice dresses and focus on my top half when buying nice…
  • I LOVE Bare Blends. I'm in Australia and it's an Aussie brand. I've converted a few people to it. My mum has always hated protein powder but she had some of mine in a smoothie and then went and bought some for herself. http://bareblends.com.au/organic-vanilla-bean-native-whey-protein-isolate
