You all have been SUCH a huge help! THank you! I did jump on that other deal.. I got the olympic bar and 300 lbs of olympic weights for $60! The weights have a little rust, but no big deal. So I'm on my way! I'm having fun keeping a close eye on craigslist now! It's addicting. I can't believe I'm getting my own little gym.…

I just found a bar and only weights 300 lbs for $60. A little rust but I think I'll buy those for now. Good, right?
-
Yeah. No doubt it's a ton of weights. I can't do bench press with just this set up, can I?

I'm back! And my back is good! I SO overreacted. Squat: started at a deload at 85 pounds, but felt great, so upped to 90 pounds and did it! OHP: 65 pounds. It's getting really hard! I felt like I might drop it. Guess I better stay there next time. Deadlift: 105 pounds. This move feels ridiculous, but strong! "Pick it up.…

As a nurse, I can't think of any reason you can't lift heavy after a hysterectomy. Especially 10 years out with no complications. Now, if someone had other girl parts worked on like a bladder lift, hernia repair, or a mesh of sorts... that would be more important to check with the doc first. A girly doc who knows their…

I've been putting ice cream on my back all day. Definitely feels better. ;)

I wrecked my back. I'm so mad. And only on my second set of squats at only 90 pounds. Felt the small of back hurt on the way up, and it still hurts hours later. I'm not even sure if I can vacuum or anything. This stinks. I'm sure it was my form. My plan is to rest for at least 2 days. And take Motrin. Lots of Motrin. So...…

Does this help? Pics of different body fats... http://www.builtlean.com/2012/09/24/body-fat-percentage-men-women/

First, my NSV! I have a pair of pants that I've been waiting to squeeze into. (Since you all say to NOT use the scale, I picked this pair because they are just a little too small.) Well, today, they fit! Wahoo! I've lost a LOT this first month in! The scale says only like 4 pounds, but I know I've lost more chub than that.…

I think you should inhale what you can. 20 minutes into your workout, it will help you.

I started jogging/running again on my off days. Can't stop coughing for hours afterward. My sis told me it could be asthma. (Duh. I'm a nurse, why didn't I think of that?) It could be a combo of allergies/asthma. So I went to the doc and he gave me an inhaler, but he seemed somewhat clueless. I may go to a pulmonolgist.…

Oh, and one more vent... I hate those stinking clips! I need to work out my hand grip strength just to be able to work out! Seriously! SO hard to to squeeze those springy handles, it takes two hands. But I need another hand to push it down the bar! I even fish through the bin to find the easiest ones. Takes me forever to…

Well, I had my first fail. I'm disappointed because I just started SL like 3 or 4 weeks ago! I maxed out on my barbell row at only 80. I kept checking to make sure I added right. But I just couldn't finish the sets. It feels awkward, and I just feel clumsy doing the barbell row. I'll keep watching the videos to check my…

That was cool.

Just started SL, too, so... 1. Stick with it! 2. Track my food. (I often get lazy for weeks a time and don't track.) That's actually plenty for me! Will be a huge improvement!
-
That's GOOD stuff!
-
IN only 4 weeks, good job!
-
That was a good video. My back was hurting yesterday after these, and I'm maxing out on this before any of the other moves. Is that normal? I need to be careful with this one!
-
Awesome! So cool you can go with your SO! Don't stop!

Glad you spoke up! That was a fun read. Pow! :)

I'm excited to go to the YMCA in a little while! To lift! Never thought I would say that! I'm still a newbie, and it's hard to be patient. I want to get to the heavy stuff! :) Love this thread, ladies!

jstout, that's awesome!

Congrats on starting!

Get glide stick!

Fifth time out... starting to get heavy and I love it! It feels good! I was having a hard time before going low in my squats. With heavier weights, it's much easier to go down low. Of course, it's harder to get up, though! ;)

I'm still here! I took 6 days off, which is awful considering I started last week! But I went back last night. Yay, me! I'm NOT quitting. So, for my fourth session I'm still pretty much lifting just the bar. But that's okay. I'm not in a big hurry. Need to be sure I have some decent form and not going to wreck my back. I…

bump. Keep 'em coming!

Awesome! Joy from pain! :)

Nice, congrats! Last night I did my second workout and used one of my free training sessions with a trainer. It was like pulling teeth to make him show me the stronglifts moves! He didn't want me to do them. I finally said, "Look, show me your moves. I don't mind. But ALSO show me what I want because I'll come back and do…
