  • My husband has taken over my role as slightly obsessed dieter since he realised he went from a 42 inch waist to a 36 inch eating the same food as me and now raves about this WOE to anyone who will listen. Meanwhile having maintained my goal weight for the past year (longest time ever in my life) I am in jeopardy of…

  • You haven't failed, you just had a bad day. As @dasher602014 said, tomorrow is a new day. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep on going. You can do this xx

  • @krazyforyou I have been through this a couple of times during my weight loss journey. I tell myself "that one little thing won't hurt" and it is fine until I find myself saying this several times a day, then I realise I have lost control. I found total abstinence from any sweet or carby things for a few days or a week,…
  • Thanks @Tishball. They were happy and I am glad I took the challenge now, although still not convinced I would do it again :D . It was lucky I was on leave from my day job at the time. :#

  • I have been making birthday and other celebration cakes for the past couple of years as a side line but I always say no to wedding cakes as I just didn't have the confidence in myself to pull it off. I was asked by a good friend to make the cake for their wedding recently and not only did I say yes but pulled off my first…

  • I was going through my wardrobe and trying things on to see what fit and what didn't and for fun tried on my wedding dress. I got married 11 years ago and was at my thinnest for a very long time and loved how I looked and felt on the day. I was able to pull the skirt part up without undoing the zip and it was very loose on…

  • I look at it this way especially with something I have eaten in the past, I ask myself "Is this worth eating? I've had it before I know what it tastes like, will I feel great afterwards or later will I feel I have let myself down and be miserable? " If I know it would make me feel great I will eat/drink it and deal with…
  • 2-3 meals a day, occasional snacks.
  • My office ordered some clothing from a office wear company to try on as we had been looking at making our company look more corporate and professional. The shirts I picked to try were all too big and I had to try smaller sizes. The ones that fit me turned out to be the same size as the ones that fit one of the slimmest…

  • Same with my hubby. He still drinks beer and eats bread but has almost cut out soda and cut down his other carb intake quite a bit by eating whatever I am having. He's lost about 12kgs in the last 8 months. All his work pants and shirts are much looser now and he had to make a 2nd new hole in his belt this morning. Time…

  • In that case I may go back and read them. So used to people trolling nonsense that I tend to avoid comments sections.
  • I didn't bother reading the comments. I knew it would bring out the idiots.
  • Went out with my husband last night and bumped into a friend we hadn't seen for a long time who thought for a moment my husband was having an affair as he didn't recognize the thinner me.

  • I had a similar experience. I used to wake up every morning with a blocked up nose, I would have hayfever symptoms and hives all year around and practically lived on antihistamines. Now I can see when I have eaten wheat or a carb heavy meal by the stuffy nose and itchy sore eyes the next morning, the rest of the time my…
  • I am over it now, but was quite upset at the time. Maybe people will get used to me looking this way soon and there'll be no need to comment anymore. Will get my repertoire of answer backs together so I am prepared next time :) .
  • I don't even need the flowchart. Question: Should you eat that bacon? Answer: Yes, always yes!! :D
  • For when you get a serious craving for eating Polystyrene?? Rice cakes with Fat free cottage cheese. bleeeurgh! I can't believe I ever ate that rubbish and tried to convince myself I liked it.
  • Click on their name under their profile picture and then click on Add as friend on their profile. They can then approve you and you now have a friend. :)
  • I love to see how well people are doing. The photos people posted were a great source of inspiration at the beginning of my journey so I hope mine will also inspire people to keep on with their WOE and achieve their weight loss goals too. :)
  • It's a little family run store. The owners are both doing the Tim Noakes "Banting" diet and source low carb high fat products from around the country. All the meals and desserts are homemade and delicious. They also have breads and cupcakes and brownies made with coconut or Almond Flour. It's not cheap though. The…
  • Good job for not giving into the cravings. It is hard when you are not in charge of preparing the food so can't control where the carbs are but I suppose we all have to learn to cope with those horrible cravings on occasions. I hate it. Feels like I have lost control even when I don't give in to them.
  • I like seeing people's progress photos. Great motivation. You're looking great Batlady49 Not face photos and not a great after photo. But first is me on 26 December 2014 at 95ish kg The second (not so clear photo) is me today (26 November 2015) at 67.5kg. Must get someone to take a better photo though.
  • I'm glad I don't have Thanksgiving to worry about, just Christmas (I'm in South Africa) and it seems that my family want to go for a laid back BBQ style Christmas this year so a boiled Ham finished on the bbq and lots of ribs and chicken wings and some veggies on the side. We have an amazing lowcarb store near to my office…
  • I think CICO is valid but I do think our bodies are all different and are more or less efficient at dealing with different macros. Also I found when following the CICO WOE I had to be incredibly strict about weighing and measuring my food but find with LCHF I can eyeball and estimate much more and still lose. I do think…
  • Me too. I think it's partly why I decided to change my goal weight to lose a couple of kgs more. Not ready for the maintenance bit yet
  • I have been watching this story with interest as I am following his "banting" WOE. I hope that it starts to get people to really take a look at the diet advice they have been handing out in recent years. I was a sceptic when I began this WOE convinced it would be another waste of my time but 27.5kgs down in 11 months and a…
  • My husband posted a picture of me and him that he took at his work end of year function on Facebook and made it his profile picture and I didn't hate it and make him take it down. In fact I quite liked it.
