Depending how much "too much" is, you're probably fine. The only thing about fat is that it's very calorie dense (9 kcal/gram) whereas carbs and protein are less dense (4kcal/gram). I'm not sure how fat metabolizes compare to carbs or protein.

I have. No idea what it is. It's almost like a very fast, repeated (painless) spasm, right?

Potassium isn't normally recorded on the USDA labels, which is why (I believe) a lot of the foods on here don't list potassium. When I need to add a food that doesn't contain the potassium, I search theUSDA food list, input the serving amount and edit the database listing here on MFP to include potassium. You're probably…

Thanks, breezedaze. You know, in the first few months on my Fitness plan, I did notice my belly getting a bit softer and somewhat flatter, even the *kitten* scale is a liar. LOL.

Both my wife and I take our hamburgers and sandwiches apart and eat in layers. Back when I used to eat fast food, I would always eat all my fries first, then my hamburger (sometimes in layers). When talking about a plate of food, I usually finish one food before moving to the next.

Do you mean success pics for those who didn't engage in exercise at all, only ate at a calorie deficit?

The eight 8-ounce glass of water thing is a myth. Drink when you're not thirsty and include plenty of fruits and veggies in your diet. You'll get enough water. http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/8glasses.asp http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18563_162-3991145.html http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20620753

Changing diapers is nothing. When your kid is snacking on chips on the way home from daycare, starts gagging and choking and then proceeds to projectile vomit all over himself and the car seat? Now THAT'S something! He's okay by the way. The first words out of his mouth in concern for his now soiled t-shirt? "Elmo." (with…

My ears are small and ear buds are ALWAYS falling out. Being a musician and trained audio engineer, I'm very picky about sound, much to my wife's chagrin. I have a pair of ThinkSound.com ear buds and am completely satisfied with them. They are a bit on the pricier side but well worth it.

I am not a diabetic, but it runs strong in my genes. I will never forget what my father went through with his. All I can say to you for encouragement is BE DILIGENT. Keep your numbers under control. It's totally understandable that you are scared, just remember to always manage your blood glucose levels. All the best!

I'm very sorry about your stepdad. My dad also died from complications of diabetes. He was only 62. He ignored it for far too long, was addicted to food, overate (he could eat half a loaf of bread and a pound of ground beef in a sitting). He went blind. He then needed dialysis. Then, he contracted a rare disease…

Wow, I've noticed a lot of anxiety and OCD issues in this thread. I'm no exception! SPNLuver83, OMG! ^This! I saw the same episode and still freak out around turned-off TVs! We don't have a TV in the bedroom, thankfully! I'm a pretty open guy, but here are some things you may not know: - I have severe sleep apnea and use a…

I just calculated my numbers, and I was eating at almost a 25% deficit. Just bumped up my numbers a bit, so we'll see how that goes!
-
Excellent! What a wonderful job you've done, Brandi. You look 5-10 years younger, easy. I'm going to try eating at a 15% deficit to the fat2fit numbers. If I start gaining weight, I'll bring it back down, or ramp up my exercise more.

That's the original post I was looking for, beachlover! Thanks! I think I might be undereating. I know I'm short, but I'm also heavy. I'll read that whole post again when I have some time to really focus on it. BOOKMARKING! :drinker:

This may have gotten lost in the shuffle. Any suggestions?

If I had to choose, I'd say feta; however, I like fresh goat cheese (chevre) the best.

Of course it's all right, but you shouldn't need our approval. Do what you need to do for you, especially if you're in pain with Aunt Flo, yo.

I'm 39 years old, 5'6" and 208 lbs., although you would never guess that. Most people think I'm about 170-180 lbs. Would love to get down to 160!

Canned fruit = gag. And to think, I used to wolf down Fruit Cocktail as a kid. Frozen fruit (no added sugar) is great, especially berries which are frozen at peak ripeness.

Yeah, I'm a crier too. Definitely, during/after traumatic events like the death of my father and my first-born son. However, I also notice that I have crying spells -- even at dumb stuff on TV or when my second son does something cute -- when my digestive problems kick up. Anybody else have that?
