Cut Calorie Intake - Does this sound right?

I used the Fit2FatRadio.com tools to calculate my TDEE based on the following numbers:
CW: 209 lbs.
GW: 209 lbs. (this was suggested on a post I can no longer find)
Height: 66"
Neck: 17"
Waist: 42"
Hips: 43"
Body fat percentage is 29.6%.
BMR (Katch-McArdle) calculates as: 1813 calories
Sedentary TDEE: 2329 calories
10% Deficit: 2117 calories
15% Deficit: 2025 calories
Do those numbers sound about right? Right now I'm eating 1,700 and losing VERY slowly, but I feel like my body is changing positively. I tried eating 1,900 at one point and started gaining. Would you increase calories in my case? Am I undereating?
[Also, I'm ramping up my exercise slowly, because my tolerance was VERY low.]
Thanks!

Check this thread out and see what you think. It may help clarify the whys and hows of losing weight. It will feel like the twilight zone at first - but just give it time! Good luck!0 -

That's the original post I was looking for, beachlover! Thanks! I think I might be undereating. I know I'm short, but I'm also heavy. I'll read that whole post again when I have some time to really focus on it. BOOKMARKING! :drinker:0 -
Glad to help! Dan's got good info on this thread. Good luck!0

I use fat2fit's numbers. I have been losing and eating more, so it's a win/win for me.
Good luck0 -

Yes! I would say that you've lost a little bit! LOL Do you mind if I ask how long that has taken you? Did you eat more the whole time? You look fantastic!0 -
Bumping thanks for the link.0

Excellent! What a wonderful job you've done, Brandi. You look 5-10 years younger, easy. I'm going to try eating at a 15% deficit to the fat2fit numbers. If I start gaining weight, I'll bring it back down, or ramp up my exercise more.0 -
Actually no, I haven't always. I started out eating 1200 or less. But then I was tired, and mean lol. I just went into this blindly so I didn't realize I was not doing it the best way for my body, but I found fat2fit as I was starting to really have a hard time losing and it bumped me back up. I started out in Jan 2011 so it's been about 19 months.0

That is so awesome! You really did well! I started out below 1200. I was fine for about 3 months and then the bottom fell out. I was unable to keep up the exercise and went searching for another path. I kept coming across Dan's posts on so many threads and began reading all the stories of people who were upping their calories and why. It made such good sense, but of course it scared me to death, too. I have been eating around 1600 for the last 4 weeks and I feel great. I'm still losing! I hope I can be as successful as you by next year! Thanks for responding and best of luck to you!0 -
I just calculated my numbers, and I was eating at almost a 25% deficit. Just bumped up my numbers a bit, so we'll see how that goes!0

Good for you. If you run into any problems, pm Helloitsdan - he is very good about getting you over the hurdles! Look forward to reading about your success!0

I just redid my numbers as well and after reading the link I think I understand why I lost 2.5 lbs my first week but a whole lotta nothing since then. I went by the recommended MFP daily calories of 1200...clearly not enough! Thanks again OP!0
