On days I need to bump up my calories I make a coconut curry with lamb or bison meatballs. Saute up some onion and tomatoes in a pot for 5 minutes, add in 2 tsp of curry powder and a can of cull fat coconut milk and heat on medium high for 15 minutes. Then throw in 16 oz of ground meat/lamb meatballs (seasoned with salt…

I prefer not to use protein powders (unless i'm camping/travellng) and I hit around 130-160g of protein a day on a 1800-2100 calorie goal while also eating lower carb, and moderate-high fat. I usually eat 4-8oz of salmon or meat with my breakfast, 2 chicken breasts (about 10-12oz) and 2 eggs with my lunch, and 6-8oz of…

Play around with the ratios to get .8g of protein per pound of body weight (ex: 200lb person x .8g = 160g of protein goal), 50-150g of carbs (from a lot of veggies and some fruit) and the rest should be fat. 30%-35% protein will usually suffice for most people unless they are doing an incredible amount of heavy weight…

I stock up on packs of wild caught smoked salmon and some nuts/avocado or fruit to go with it. I sleep in as much as I can before work so i just keep those in the fridge ready to grab in the morning when I leave.

That's what I do on days I have strong sugar cravings. Sometimes by the time I get to the designated time I set for 8pm, after dinner, the craving is gone. If I do have the dessert, at least I feel better knowing I didn't already have three other desserts earlier in the day. I'm currently trying to limit refined sugars to…

I think that's a great idea. Similarly to the OP, I have a really hard time dealing with my sweet tooth cravings, especially during times when i'm frustrated. I try to distract myself by first having a glass of water and then i go read a chapter of a book. By the time i'm done reading the chapter the urge to eat junk will…

3.5 oz is a pretty small serving of chicken breast... Are you sure you're measuring correctly? I had a hearty serving earlier (9.5oz) of chicken breast and though it was very filling, it was nowhere near difficult to choke down. (My average servings are 5 or 6oz.) I do agree that "healthily prepared" foods are a lot more…

Incredible job! I love your story!

I feel you. Although, this instantly came to mind.

I dabbled in biking last year, and late July i decided to upgrade my bike and start doing it more regularly. I've biked 585 miles since then and have done a couple events in the last couple months, including my first Duathlon two weeks ago. :D I prefer to bike in the heat, (can't stand the wind chill) so I haven't been…

I have the same experience as you! Eating small frequent meals slowly turned into eating big frequent meals and I found myself overeating and eating all day long. IF really helps me to be in tune with my body and when I'm actually hungry and I feel more satisfied with the same 1900 calories I was eating before because now…

I started IF and I really like it. It helps me avoid the morning snacks lurking at work and overeating at night after i've had dinner. I fast from 8pm to noon. The first couple of days i was a little hungry but i quickly adjusted and now my body starts getting hungry around 1130am. It helped me to start on the weekend,…

Misread that! The 10lb increase for DLs can be rough. I would try the 5lb increment instead and then get some fractionals online from amazon once those increments get too large. :)

Everyone has such awesome numbers!

You'll love it! I started pretty much with just the bar for most of the moves and progress has come slowly, but I'm still improving even months later. :)
