  • If you want that restaurant style taste you need to boil the cauli in milk. I own a restaurant and cauli puree is under our chicken breast at the moment :)
  • I'm down for this. 257 as of today. Less than 225 by Christmas.
  • To tenderize meat in my restaurant we use sliced kiwifruit. Just put it all over it and leave it overnight. We use it on squid etc, takes all the stringiness away.
  • Heh I wish. I'm in the same boat as you!
  • Sadly you can't spot reduce fat. Wouldn't that be great though! No exercises will take fat off one particular area. It'll come off eventually though, you sound like you're doing great . . . just keep going!
  • You can't spot reduce fat. You might want to try some abdominal exercises to tone what's underneath but when it comes down to it you just need to reduce overall bodyfat to make a difference. We all have the areas that hold onto fat a while, it'd be lovely to be able to lose the fat just where you wanted it
  • One bad action doesn't counter the amount of good this guy does in the world. Tennis aside he's still a role model for many. I'm sure the majority of us aren't saints and have some skeletons hiding in the closet that we aren't particularly proud of. As an older man he obviously realises that what he did was wrong and…
  • As a guy I have to applaud your attitude on this. It's refreshing to see someone taking personal responsibility for their eating and not blaming it on someone else. The world doesn't have to revolve around you in order for you to lose weight and there are always going to be temptations. You seem to have a great attitude…
  • Oh looks nice :) My wife makes a similar one. Same spices etc but a few other ingredients. 1 can of apricots in juice 1 can chick peas Huge bunch of spinach (add at the end of cooking) Nice texture from the chick peas and a little sweetness from the apricots.
  • Well done! People do tend to over-complicate things. Energy In>Energy Out = Gain Weight Energy In<Energy Out = Lose Weight Seems like you see a lot of people looking for shortcuts these days, but you've got it alright. Get off the couch
  • Up until I broke my neck I was playing rugby at a very high level here in New Zealand. Although I was about as fit as humanly possible BMI considered me to be overweight and bordering obese. At this point my body fat when measured by our trainer was under 10%. It doesn't take into account differing muscle mass make up,…
  • I wish we had access to turkey like this in NZ. All you ever see in our supermarkets is the whole turkey, no specific cuts. Other than some dodgy rolled turkey meat that is, and that stuff is suspicious.
  • Really easy to make. All measurements are approximate as I don't really measure this stuff and I'm converting to lbs in my head from kg :) 2lbs Sweet Potato (Kumara) 1 1/2 Cups Flour (you could use whole grain flour if you want, might make an interesting addition) Salt and Pepper Cook the kumara however you want.…
  • That dressing sounds excellent. Is it trying to be a vinaigrette or something more creamy?
  • I own a restaurant and we're about to start our summer menu (southern hemisphere). We have a few salads going on that seem quite nice and aren't overtly unhealthy. It's just your choice of dressing that will change that. Biggest thing I see missing from salads people make at home is texture. It can't all be leaves! Chicken…
  • Oh and another thing. When you get too lazy to suck your stomach in anymore it's time to hit the gym. Anyway I've told my business partners (that love to hassle me for being the fat guy) that I'll beat them all in a half marathon that takes place in about 7 months time. This caused much laughing and slapping of thighs! The…
