  • I don't eat breakfast most days. Just black coffee, and then my first meal is around 12. I can't say I have lost weight doing this. More like maintaining.
  • Have you read Carb nite Solution by Keifer? He gives some very sound scientific evidence on how carb refeeding helps you lose fat. You have to do what works for your body. But check it out if you are curious.
  • I started eating paleo last January after doing a Whole 30. I haven't looked back! This year I decided to try something new after hearing a Podcast with DH Kiefer about Carb Nite Solution. So far, I haven't seen a lot of results. I hope having some friends and support will help me on my keto journey. I have sent most of…
  • I am also doing a keto diet. Experimenting with carb nite solution for now. Have been doing it since January 20. Add me as a friend and we can encourage each other. I could really use some support!
  • I have been doing paleo for about six months. I love it!! Once you get used to the food choices, it becomes very easy. I just want to warn you not to expect instant results. It takes a good month to so for your body to become adjusted. Think of your goals in the long term rather than short term.
  • I know that eating in moderation is probably the best way. I just feel guilty eating whole grains and fruit now, I have been restricting it for almost a year. You guys are so right in your advice, and it helps to hear from REAL people. I appreciate all your input. When I was down to 130, I felt so great about myself, and…

  • You can go to www.heartratemonitorsusa.com and check out all the different brands. They usually come with a chest strap to measure your heart beats, and a watch to display the results. You can get a good one for around $50-75. Make sure you get one that counts your calories, if that is what you are buying it for. They…
  • I don't normally teach Pilates, but I subbed for someone today and taught class for the first time in about 4 years. I felt like some of the students would have been better teachers than me! They were in awesome shape! After the class, I didn't feel like I had done anything, so I went for a 30 minute run in the small…
  • Julie- I have two kids as well. I eat pretty healthy for the most part. I must be snacking too much. I find it impossible to stick to a meal plan unless it is super simple.
  • I just saw this thread, too bad I didn't see it a month ago! I am on the second 30 days of workouts. I am doing Max Interval Circuit today. I have found that the second month is so much harder than the first!! I am totally wiped out after a workout and can barely hang in there to finish. During the first month I saw some…
  • A heart rate monitor would be a great tool to help you discover your best calorie burn. If you have a higher heart rate, you are going to burn more calories. So, if you are running slowly or walking and your heart rate is lower, you are not going to burn as many calories on a 40 minute slow run/walking hills. You would get…
  • I agree that you will be absolutely fine! Good Luck!!
  • I am doing my first sprint of the season on March 13. It is short, but still considered a sprint race. 300 yds in the pool, 10 mile bike and 5k run. I signed up for 3 more sprints, an international and a Half IM in September. I got addicted 2 years ago to the sport. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! The serious…
