It does get easier - hang in there. I can tell you all the cliches like you didn't gain the weight in a day so you can't expect to lose it in a day and wait 20 minutes and the hunger pangs go away - but let's face facts - it is hard and if you want it bad enough you will find the willpower to do it. You need to have…

Evening Ladies. Just browsing through the post and catching up on everyone's goings on. Had vein ablation surgery yesterday and just took the bandage off that was from foot to thigh. Have some mighty pretty bruises to show off when I have my ultrasound tomorrow. It was a beautiful day today in PA, but looks like it is…

Hi ladies - just stumbled across this thread and it seems like the perfect place to come to when you need a bit of a lift. I am 51 years old and need to lose about 60 lbs. I have taken off 10 since I started and every time I think I am going to give up I find something on MFP like this thread to make me want to hang in…

As stupid as it sounds a long denim jumper that I wore when I lost 60 lbs 10+ years ago that has been hanging in the attic. It was the first thing I bought and wore that really made people notice how much weight I lost. And probably the thing I wore when people noticed that I was putting it back on!

Looks like that idiot student succeeded in accomplishing exactly what he/she wanted to do....to make you feel bad. You are an intelligent adult you know that they wrote that to get a rise out of you - blow it off! Too bad you can't give the little f'er a failing grade, unless of course you did, and that would explain the…

What I love it is keeps you accountable . If you are dishonest you are only lying to yourself. I also like the ability to express my thoughts to people who truly understand. If you find out that someone is not a supportive friend it is a lot easier to hit delete here than it is in real life. I'm not saying that people…

Just read a post from someone comparing being a food addict to any other kind of addict - you wouldn't give any other kind of addict a chance to cheat for even one day - so w.hy do we feel it is okay to cheat with food we know isn't good for us. I guess the difference is you have to eat food - you can not give it up…
Also, Don't give up what you want MOST for what you want right now.
Now this is good advice!

I love it!

This is one of my favorite of all the posts! So very true!

Seems like the most simplistic advice is the best!

Pam 51  I can touch my tongue to my nose  David Cassidy was my first crush  I have a weird toe on each foot  I love puppies more than babies - hopefully that will change when I become a grandma  If I could eat anything I wanted without adding calories it would be frosting in a can!…

New to this thread - but here goes. My goals for July are:  continue logging food everyday  walk at least 4-5 days per week  not to have another cheat day until the Family Reunion at the end of the month (cheated today for picnic) actually make a dr appt that I have been avoiding for a year and…

Please feel free to add me...have 60 to lose and am in the 1200 calorie zone. Find myself trying to save as many calories as I can for my evening meal - they add up so fast.

Yep, been there done that. Realized yesterday or actually let myself face the fact that I am 83 lbs heavier than when I got married 33 years ago - so time for the thin me to make a reappearance and stay around this time. Lost 60 lbs and gained 70 back - I'm with you.

Right back at you from PA. Feel free to add me as a friend.

Moderation is the key - we've all heard that. If you can control yourself - go for it. If you can't - then just throw it in the garbage and dump something gross on top of it....I've already dug it back out - LOL. My 25 year old son recently lost 40 lbs. I asked how and he said if I don't buy it, I don't eat it....smart…

I work for a school district and have seen the loss of so many young people when their lives are just beginning. I can not begin to understand what you are going through, but would love to be there for support. My sister lost a 21 year old son, 16 year old grand daughter and a 3 month old granddaughter in a span of 4…

Wow, I forgot about this post since I usually use my iPhone and can't get to the forums from it. I appreciate all the motivational words and am going to add all of you as friends - looking forward to this journey together.

Please add me as a friend. Our family went to Disney after I had lost 60 lbs and since that trip in 2000, I have found every single one of them. Time to lose them again - I refuse to go back to Disney until I do. I hope you had a great trip, regardless of the pictures.
