Sorry, late for my weigh in. Yesterday's weight: 180.6 :| Well. I'm seeing some very small loss in my inches, some bulk up in my old muscles, but not much loss in my weight. Complicated feelings.

Thanks guys! I'm feeling great about next week! Lets do our best~ I had a great workout tonight and cooked myself some delicious salmon and asparagus~ Mmm.. <3 Mental Note: Healthy is awesome. xD;

It's short for High Intensity Interval Training. :) The deal where you include short spurts of aggressive cardio into your workout to boost your results. BTW, I did some HIIT tonight and increased the resistance a smidge for part of the workout, and I feel a lot better for it! I felt the burn. xD I was 85-97% for two 5…

SW - 179 Week 1 - 181.2 Yeah, I knew I was going to go up. :| But it's alright, I was expecting it. I'll work hard and loose it soon. :)

I love dance sneakers. There's nothing better when you need flexibility and less bulk for dancing and lots of movement. However I'm not sure how they'd be on a flat-footed person. :x They tend to run with a high arch, and people are sometimes surprised at how they feel. If you're going this road, maybe check some out at a…

Thanks everyone! I feel a little better about pushing myself now. As long as I can keep it up the whole time, I'll go with the flow. Also, I have heard of HIIT. I never really thought of applying it to an Arc Trainer, but I guess including faster spurts would be good. I'd like to get into things like Insanity or PX90, but…

I have changed up my process this week, so I might be up come tomorrow. D: (Haven't weighed yet.) I got into the habit of simply eating less and dieting because it's the way my roommate loses weight and I thought it would fit my busy schedule better. But I've decided that her way of doing things just isn't gonna work for…

I had a good day, in terms of my purposes here at MFP, which I'm happy about. I hit just under my calorie goal. I didn't get in to the gym like I wanted to; instead I was called in to cover my co-worker's shift (I basically did double shift with classes in between. x_x ouch). But it was a really busy day, so I did get some…

izobel: Thanks for the encouragement! I imagine 1 hour and 30 minutes for a walk doesn't sound bad to a lot of people. lol. I live on the outskirts of a town that's not terribly pedestrian/cyclist friendly, but it's certainly not impossible. I'll try to get out and enjoy a good long walk when the weather warms up and I'm…

I'm gonna try for 2lbs/week. But I want a nice even number so I'll aim for 9 lbs. ;D SW: 179 GW for Challenge: 170 Good luck~

I'm in too. This'll be my first challenge. :D I'll post when I wake up.

Starting Weight May1 : 181.4 Goal Weight May 31 : 173 Measurements - Bust : 40.5 Waist : 33 Hips : 44.5 Thighs : 26 Arms : 13 I'm at 25 minutes average for cardio... so I'll bump it up to 30. Cardio is my weak point so I will start bumping up little at a time. I've already made vast improvements on my stamina, so if I…

But salmon is so delicious! XD; I used to hate all fish when I was younger. (My parents never eat seafood so I never got used to the flavor and texture.) Then, when my friend's japanese mother made food for us once that included salmon, I tried it again.... I was reluctant to eat it, but I did for politeness sake. I didn't…

I understand your pain. Yesterday was the first day I didn't make it into the gym since I started. Fortunately most of my classes this year are either easy for me or 100 level courses cause I'm missing credits due to my transfer. It looks like most of the professors are saving the easiest stuff for last.…

Yep, cardio cardio cardio. I've made it in to the gym every day for the past week and a half and my hips and back have already slimmed quite a bit. I average about 20 mins cardio a day, 25-30 on a good day. Trying to work my way up. If you have time to sit around, take a walk and take your reading homework with you. Just…

I've had Shirataki a lot, but never the tofu kind. There's a "Konnyaku" type which is made of yams and is even more "healthy" or at least lower calorie. I dont know if I've ever seen it in a regular grocery store, though, only in my local asian markets. I know nothing about the specifics on either of these, but I do know…

I'm new and I haven't done a challenge either, and I think May would be a great time to start. I will need something to keep me on track during Finals week and two of my friend's birthdays. May is also my busiest month EVER. I will be In Chicago for the first weekend, Boston, two weeks after that, and Dallas the the week…

I've heard that keeping well hydrated helps. I dont know any specifics but it seems to make sense. Drink lots of water!

I went out and bought myself a smaller sized frying pan and pot specifically to make smaller portions. (I.E. if I were going to actually eat Kraft maccaroni and cheese, I could only make 1/3 the box at a time.) It works for me cause I only cook for myself. That way you cant keep going for seconds even if you bought those…

I always hear about Trader Joes.... Alas, I have never been to one, but it sounds like I'm missing out. .... I hate missing out. :frown: What areas are they in?

With only one week of reconditioning stretches I can do cartwheels and backbends without hurting WHATSOEVER again! Oh, And Handstand pushups. I can do those again too. *JOY* My Biceps came running back to me after about three days of weight lifting. Other things... My skin is tighter and healthier looking since I…

My try! ... How hard to choose! So many things I want to write. A - Astrology, which has been an odd sort of soul searching tool for me in the past few years. (Even though I take it with a grain of salt. ) B - The Business that my roommate and I run. C - The Comic books that I publish through our business.…

Thank you very much everyone! It's so relieving to hear that there are others who want to work hard! FitnessGeek: You know, I'm FLABBERGASTED at the fact that after only three days of weight training I feel all my old muscles coming back to life! It's like my body remembered my old body and is fighting desperately to come…

...and I want to get it off my chest. First of all, I beg your pardon for writing such a HUGE post, and I in no way blame anyone who does not want to read it. Its only about me anyway. Generally, I consider myself to be a pretty fortunate person. I am grateful for many things and I am a very optimistic person who…

I understand where you're coming from. I'm having trouble filling in those extra calories too even at 1200 calories! Well, you probably shouldn't eat those things simply because they're not good for you in the first place. The quality of food you ingest is just as important as the number of calories you eat. From what I've…

With symptoms like trouble losing weight with correct management and trouble with hair growth, it sounds like it could be a hormone problem. I am by no means an expert, just an avid Discovery Health watcher. I'm thinking you may want to consult your doctor, if you haven't already.

Other than portion size, if you're using high calorie condiments such as milk, mayo, cheese or creamy dressings you can consider switching to lower calorie options. (you might be surprised to like it! o_o) or perhaps using less of it. If portion size is the problem, you can slowly lessen the size of your portions. You'll…

Thank you so much! I will do my best. :)

So this is my second dieting experience. The first time I tried dieting, my friend convinced me to try a rather unhealthy, very (too) low-calorie diet. I lost a lot of weight in the begining but it failed in the end once I couldn't keep up, so I'm back to try a healthier approach. This time I'm incorporating excersise and…
