  • to answer your question, yes, you're normal.. and i've felt the same, and that feeling nags back every now and then. I've lost 100 lbs before, 80 lbs, 75, 50 lbs a couple times.. and gained it back each time, and then some. So I know failure too. This time I think I've finally found the right mix of eating well, in a…
  • i know this is an old thread, but didn't want to start a new one, since my topic and question is the same! :) I just got the BL workout for Xbox 360 Kinect, and have done the first two days. It doesn't seem to like my jogging, even though i'm working harder and bigger (I think) than the trainer.. but all the rest of the…
  • i have over 200 lbs to lose in total. I've lost 50 lbs so far. When i started, I tried walking my 1 mile block, but it hurt.. alot. So then, i cut it shorter, and went slower. Now I can do 5KM (I do that once a week. I also go to a 1 hour intense Aquafit class 3x a week, and walk my one mile block on alternating days. on…
  • Congratulations!!! that must feel so awesome!!!
  • I track fibre, protein, sugar, carbs and sodium. My doc told me what he wants me reaching per day in fibre and protein grams.. so this was a great handy tool to be able to put that in.
  • i'll tell you this, i have cut down on the alcohol, cut it down to weekends only, no hard liquor really, just beer. usually, only a couple a weekend. i can't cut it out, it's in my German nature to drink beer :D any dinner ideas out there? my husband loves rice, i definitely do not. i need substitutes. i know i'm asking a…

  • Hi! I was diagnosed about 7 yrs ago, but have had it likely for 20 yrs. I would be careful going TOO low carb (others may disagree with me on this) You need to find a good healthy balanced diet that you can LIVE with the rest of your life. I tried the ultra low carb diet and lost a LOT of weight, and fast.. but as soon as…

  • my doctor (at a Weight loss clinic in Ontario) put me on a 2100 cal diet. I had a calorimetre test done. I started at 370 lbs.
  • near St. Catharines!
  • i was 135 in HS, and too thin, all my bones stuck out, and my stomach was concave. I loved it then, but looking at pictures now, I don't want to be that thin again. (I am large boned) my goal now will be 150.. and when I get there, see if it fits right.. if not, will reassess. I currently have 200 lbs to go to get there...…
  • i think i get it.. i was hoping for a list of exercises to choose from under the heading STrength training.. but i am not familiar enough with what each exercise is called (lateral lifts etc.. ) so to summarize: the best is to go under Cardio choices.. and choose either calisthenics or strength training x how many minutes…
  • so this doesn't go under strength training? (confused) you put it under Cardio as strength training? and then just how many minutes you did it?
  • i weigh in every 2-3 weeks at a weight loss clinic.. so yah.. i kinda have to wear clothes... but plan is to wear the same clothes each time. I do not have a scale at home currently, and am keeping it that way for now.. otherwise i become addicted.
  • thanks.. i sometimes use the weights as well.. great reminder to pull them back out. :)
  • egg whites, eggs, chicken breasts..
  • i get the egg white cartons from Costco too. I don't have time in the morning (read: I don't MAKE time) to eat before i head to work, so i bring some egg whites in a snap lid mug.. and microwave when i get to work with some veggies mixed in, either bell pepper, or asparagus.. Mrs. Dash, S&P... they fluff up really nice. I…
  • i was going to say MFP message boards.. and games on Facebook.. :) lol
  • Personally, I would stick with your usual day. next week you'll catch up. I would look at the more month to month difference on the scale. Those 2 lbs could be water weight or anything different (medications, inflammation, whether or not you've had a good BM yesterday) , and not a real fat loss or gain. Stick with your…
  • boneless skinless chicken breasts egg whites dry fried fish more calories than what you're talking, but when i'm looking for good protein, low cal.. these are a few of my go-to's.
  • wow, what they all said! you are really inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing!
  • i have a microwaveable soup mug that I put in 1/2 cup egg whites, and then some veg.. either sweet peppers or asparagus. Then i microwave when i get to work and eat while i'm sorting through emails. Makes a great eggwhite omelette in a mug... that and a LIberte Greek 0% yogurt.
  • i hate the whole dry ingredients thing. it really messes me up. i just made quinoa this weekend too, and for the life of me i can't figure it out. i know i should do this: box tells me the NI for 1/4 cup. so if I use 1/2 cup dry.. then when it's all cooked, I find out how much cooked I have.. and use 2x the amount of the…
  • me too! too funny!
  • CONGRATULATIONS!!! that must feel ONEderful!
  • Hi Amanda.. i too will be keeping in some good healthy carbs, as per my dietician's advice. I'm going to a Bariatric Educator, and even with PCOS, I agree with them that it's important for me to keep a healthy well balanced diet (I'm learning to do it... so not there yet!) including good carbs. It may take me longer to…
  • Southern Ontario!
  • The metformin was prescribed to me because i am now pre-diabetic, and my insulin resistance is quite evident. I hope when I lose the weight, it will balance out, and i'll be able to be drug free - I hate taking stuff too, would much rather just live without them.. but they do help, from everything I've read and heard.…
  • same here.. i tried to find this group as well.. would love to join... thank you!
  • last time i was focused on weight loss, i would jump on the scale 7 or more times a DAY.. now, my scale is broken, and the program that i'm going to (a Weight management clinic) only has me coming in to weigh, measure and take vitals every 2-3 weeks. It's also a 45 min drive.. so I'm not even tempted to go in more often.…
