  • I feel you on the starting over again and again Everytime I start, I seem to have a health issue or injury (4 surgeries since 2008). My only issue right now is high blood pressure (taking medication) and lack of ambition to work out. I'm at about 330lbs now. The doctor told me the obvious ... lose weight and the BP might…
  • I'm trying to start again. Everytime I get some momentum going, a medical issue or injury arises. In the same boat with needing some motivation.
  • Also in. 2018 was a bad year due to ankle surgery. Want to get on track in 2019.
  • I'm in. I lost about 70lbs in 2012, but gained back almost 50lbs after a surgery and job change. I could use some motivation to lose it again!
  • I can always use some encouragement! Friend Request Sent.
  • Sounds like a plan! Friend request sent.
  • Always could use more friends for encouragement.
  • I fell off the wagon this year too. Last Year I lost 66lbs and felt like I would just keep losing. Then in Desember I had to go in for a surgery. That derailed me good. I gained back almost 20 lbs in 6 months. Now I am restarting my workout routine to lose the weight (again) and get to my goal weight. You just have to want…
  • I'm at about 295 and would like to get to 250 for my first goal. I know that getting to my military service weight might be impossible, but I'd like to lose at least 45 lbs.
  • I am really trying to get back on the wagon after slipping most of this year. Last year I dropped 66 lbs, and felt better than ever. In late 2012, I had to go in for a sugery that took about 6 weeks to recover from. I gained back about 20 lbs this year due to the surgery, problems with my shoulder and a change in jobs.…
  • I can really understand the frustration of not losing weight when you work so hard. I hit a plateau lay August after losing 60lbs. Last December I had to go in for a surgery and gained back 10 lbs. Just recently I went from working outside to working in an office. .. another 10 lbs. I found that I was doing a lot of…
  • 2013 has been a big mess up for me. I had hernia surgery in December of 2012 and have fallen off the horse this year. Last year I lost 60lbs and have gained back 10lbs this year. I am trying to regroup and start again, it's hard to do. I can use all the help I can get this year... add me if you wish! Hopefully we can help…

  • Hello, my name is Mike. I have been a member of MFP since December 2011. After about a year of MFP, I was down 66lbs. I ended up with a hernia from a previous surgery, so I had to give up the gym for awhile. I had my hernia surgery on Dec 14th and recovery is driving me up the wall. I have gained 6lbs from November 2012 to…
  • I miss south mountain, used to hike it in the 90's. Phoenix looked so beautiful from up there (when there wasn't any smog!). We also used to hike the White Tanks also. Really miss being out there.
  • Used to be stationed at Luke AFB in the 90's, live in Chicago area now. Looking for some new MFP friends for 2013. Add me if you wish. Here's my story: Started with MFP at 344lbs. in Dec 2011 with a goal of losing 94lbs to get back down to 250lbs. Lost 66lbs from Dec 2011 to Thanksgiving 2012. Gained back 6lbs due to bad…

  • COSTCO can kill a diet if you let it! :-) On a positive note, Costco can be a great help for an improved diet. Always buy their frozen fish (Tilapia, Salmon, trout), I have even got my wife and kids loving broiled fish night! It is always a battle when I am done checking out and see the snack bar ... FROZEN YOGURT is…
  • Sound like a great plan to revitalize my weight loss goals. In 2012, I lost 66lbs from Jan 1 to thanksgiving day 2012 (344lbs to 278lbs.). Gained 6lbs from Thanksgiving to now, which I am recovering from a complicated hernia surgery. I won't be able to get back to the gym until February at the earliest, so I will have to…
  • My biggest problem in the beginning was underestimating my food calories. What I thought was a cup of cereal was actually 2 cups. I spent 1 week measuring everything I ate early this year. It helped me visualize my portion sizes and accurately log my intake calories. Underestimating intake calories is the easiest way to…
  • The Heart rate monitor is a great idea if possible. I used one to find out my calorie burn for my circuit training at planet fitness.
  • Hi there! I too was kinda scared when I was about to turn 30... I tried to get in shape and it completely failed due to lack of motivational support. Six years later and now I am self-motivated, but I also have a lot of help from my family and MFP friends. I have been using MFP since December 2011 and it has changed my…
  • Most honey badgers don't give a S**T! But it seems like you do! Welcome to MFP ... it's a great site! Add me if you wish! Thanks
  • This site has helped me a lot with my weight loss and getting healthier goal. I lived out in the Phoenix area in the late 90's. Really miss it there. While at Luke AFB I was in the best shape of my life, around 198lbs. 13 years later I topped the scale at 344lbs! Last December I said enough is enough! I really think this…
  • Make sure it is a good heavy lock. At the Elmwood Park, IL PF there has been a string of locker room thefts. Any locks that were not normal padlocks or combination locks were broken into. I see a lot of people using small luggage locks or backpack locks, these were the locks broken off the lockers.
  • I asked my doctor about drinking Diet Coke. His response was, "There are just as many studies saying artificial ingredients are bad for you as they are OK in moderation." His advise was drink Diet soda in moderation.

  • I go to Planet Fitness and they have a Zero Tolerance to talking on cell phones on the gym floor. If you need to talk, the staff asks that you go into the lobby area. If you are caught talking on the gym floor they will first ask to go to the lobby. The second time they "ask" you to leave the gym. I personally like this…
