  • I ride a stationary bike most of the time and it becomes very boring after a few minutes. I generally watch TV or read a magazine or book to pass the time. If the book is really good I don't even notice that I've been on the bike for 30 minutes. And I usually always work out at night. Seems to work for me.
  • I personally can't do a cheat day because I tend to go overboard....Instead I've been trying to plan out my meals ahead of time and include some "goodies" throughout the week so that I don't feel like I'm being deprived of anything.

  • Hi Amanda, I'm personally the other way around haha. I like to do cardio but don't enjoy strength training, even though I know that it's good to gain muscle since muscle burns more calories than fat. I think your friend has some good advice. i just really try to watch my portion sizes by weighing my food and trying not to…
  • I know the feeling about shopping. When I was at my heaviest weight in high school, 220 lbs, shopping for clothes was a nightmare. Apparently people in the fashion industry think that just because you're overweight it means that you want to dress like a 90 year old wearing a table cloth. The patterns on plus size clothes…
  • Hi Anailys! I'm not sure how many calories you're eating a day, but if your set calorie amount is 1200 a day, you should definitely not eat below the 1200 calories. I've read that eating below 1200 calories a day puts your body into starvation mode which slows your metabolism way down. Obviously the opposite effect of what…
  • Hi Luis, I'm not in high school anymore either, but I will be going back to college in a few weeks so I'll be back in the school work grind. I definitely need a motivation buddy!
  • I have the same problem with motivation. My biggest issue is finding a way to motivate myself to stay on track with my calorie count on days when I really don't want to count them. I've read about people who put marbles in jars, with one jar labeled "Pounds lost" and one jar labeled "Pounds to lose". Apparently it's…
  • Lately I've found that if I plan out the night before what I'm going to make for dinner, I can calculate what I'll be eating ahead of time, so when the time comes for me to actually eat the dinner, I can just look at my phone to see how much I'm supposed to be eating of whatever I cooked so that way I won't be tempted to…
  • Hi everyone! This is not my first time on MFP either, but I'm determined to give it another go. I got off track with all the tempting holiday goodies, but now I'm ready to revamp and get myself in gear. To give a little background about myself: The heaviest I ever weighed was around 220 lbs in high school. I lost 40 pounds…
